What am I doing wrong? If it's properly tuned, shouldnt it pass, or is that just a marketing stunt? HELP!!! Right now, it fails the test miserably (not trying the tounge any time soon).

Tried finding an answer in the 43 page sticky, but cmon, 43 pages!?!?!?!

stick a paintball half way in the breach and fire a few times.. if it doesent chop its tuned properly.. i think the $1 bill test was just to show its capabilities.. if you had it tuned that good it would probly chuff everytime hitting the detent....

Downsize the carrier a touch, or use a longer spring. What spring are you using, what carrier, and what velcotiy are you shooting at?

It's mostly a marketing stunt. I mean it's possible but it would probably be a very finiky setup anyway. My LXs have never passed the dollar bill test, but I don't shoot dollar bills through my mag.

But does it affect your buttcheek shooting at all? Not too much chuffing?

The only time the dollar bill thing worked on mine was when I had the carrier that was just a hair too big and was leaking slightly. Even then it only worked half the time.

Its compleatly pointless to tune your lvl 10 to that point and its compleat overkill put in the red spring and the largest carrier that wont leak and you should be fine. Aslong as it dosent chop a ball who really cares if it can bounce of paper?

Unless you're shooting dollar bills, I doubt it's an issue. My level 10 bounces off a dollar bill. Just read the manual. :p

Actually, this is my first post about this.

And yes, since 1994, it feels like I've been shooting $1's, $20's, $50's and $100's through my mag.

I switched from the long spring to the red one, but havent had a chance to try it out yet (I blew out the foamie this AM and had to clean and glue another foamie). So as long as I dont chop paint, I'll be happy. I just thought that the $1 test was a benchmark to rate LvL10 tuning.

I was running the 2.5 carrier, switching to the 2 carrier. Will try it tomorrow again before work.

the $ billl test is just to show how sensitive you can tune it. i cant even get my gun to fire with the red and the silver spring

I think the dollar bill trick may only work on removable breech mags. if you are using an old style body, I think that the dollar gets wedged in the barrel.

You shouldn't worry bout it sooo much....I've never even tried the test, been shooting my mag for 3-4 years and don't remember breaking not one ball.

The $1 test was the gun set up to its absolute lightest...wasnt practical to shoot it that way. Like someone else stated; hold a ball halfway in the breech. If it doesnt chop, you're good.

Ill try the ball in the breach test tonight. My 4 kids gave us grief last night when we tried putting them to bed, so i didnt get a chance to look at my mag.....not until 10 did the last one fall asleep (5yo, 3yo, and 4 month old twins)

Now I need to chrony the sucker (dead battery on chrony), but passed pinched ball test really nicely, with old balls too :)
