Well im looking at getting a new marker,,something that doesent cost to much $$ but is an all round good marker.I have narrowed the list down to 2 markers,,,

1-b2k3/4 with pds and choas board
2-ion

both of these markers sound fairly good for what i want/need at this point in my paintball life.
what are the pors/cons of each marker,,,this is not a VS thread,,i have read up on both markers but was just woundering for people whao own them what they like/dislike about them and what to watchout for.
Thanks for any input you can give.

What's your ceiling price with all upgrades accounted for.

I'd say go for a Paradigm if your playing Woods/Rec and are not trying to go "pro", yet still play speedball.

ok,,i already have a ule, x-valve mag.it seems i can even give this thing away, lol

im just looking to move on to something eles, ive had the mag for 2 years and just want something new,i have it in the marker section for trade/sale.
i was just woundering about the other 2 markers as they are both in my price range.

if you try hard enough you can get good $ for the valve and stuff

what if you would have bought a cocker? no one would be interested TRUST ME!

or an electro that drops its price by more than a 1/4..

mags have great resale

ion-you get what you pay for(its the saturn of p-bal guns)

b2k3/4 ive had a few of these and loved them and they can be setup/customized nicely..if you choose

reliabilty hasnt been seen on the ion..and what has..isnt too good

go bushy or mag

This may be biased but I hate ICD. The wiring harness caused a nightmare for me. I got a brand new B2K4 with PDS and something was wrong with the wiring harness. After talking to ICD's head tech for a while he said send it in, I'll fix it. He replaced one little piece and simply sent it back. Never fixed the wiring harness. ICD customer service= :cuss:

Ion no doubt, you can't trade up with a b2k4.

since it doesnt seem like the b2k5s are coming out any time soon and your money budget id go b2k4 w/ pds. the ion i think is overrated but that is my opinion. you can do alot to the ion though. its really your decision. i have heard alot of good and some bad about each of the markers. either way im sure youll be happy with what you choose.

Look at the answers in one of the 500 times it's been posted. Try them both out and decide for yourself.

Ehh, I would call it the Camaro or Firebird of paintball guns. It's fast as **** but it feels pretty basic and clunky. As for reliability, has Smart Parts ever had a really relaible gun? Impulse I guess...

Anyways, IMO there is no bang for your buck better than the Ion for a NEW gun. I haven't had much ICD experience, so keep that in mind.

I have an Ion and can honestly say im impressed with it. for the price it cant be beat.
asking this question here is hopeless, there are just to many SP haters here.

Ion over all.. u could have said angel g7 or ion and i would still stick with Smart parts. Its soooo good for the price, and there are many many upgrades coming out for it. dont get a mag if u want speed.. unless ur willing to pay a lot of money and spend lots of time tinkering with it.

stop listening to the people telling you to buy a mag. It's a great gun but a mech mag won't serve you in speedball.

if you want either a B2k4 w/ pds or an ION. In my opinion you're better off with the B2K4. for reasons -

1. better build quality
2. less upgrading needed
3. reliable manufactuer and support

BUT.. really I recommend shooting both as well just incase you really like the feel of one over another.

You can't easily service or field strip an ion keep in mind.

This sounds like my friend who bought an ION, he said, and I quote, "If I don't like it, I'll be albe to trade it straight up for a brand new Angel." I have never laughed that hard in my life.

What is wrong with a mag for speedball? I used it all the time for rec-speedball. It works great, have yet to use it in a tournament though.

even a paradigm costs 439 and you don't get a barrel. im offering cost effective answers..
