Are X-valves supposed to run on 400psi into the valve? I dont know why, but my valve wouldn't shoot correctly on a high pressure tank so I figured I would try my crossfire LP tank and it shoots great. Every other x valve i've seen runs at 700 to 800 psi so maybe mine is special?

must be man ..

i have owned 7 x valve's and not one of them would run good once the tank got low

idk how you have an x valve running on an lp tank ... you must have the :ninja: x valve..

I would have never thought it was possible to run a mag on a LP(400psi) tank but it works. I'll have to make a video when my morlock board comes in. Here's my setup:

Xvalve w/ custom lxl7 plastic sleeved bolt
ULT kit w/2 shims
ULE vert feed body
RGP Splinter rail
Hyperframe milled to fit RTP rails (stock board as of now)

I'll take pics tomorrow.

Sure you havn't confused hp and lp  ... I'm sure if you could proove it worked great on low pressure, you could get alot of money for it.

It is indeed a LP output Crossfire. I know, its hard to believe. I didn't think it was possible, but it works...lol

This may be slightly off topic, but this thread reminded me of the question... :ninja:

I was thinking of putting a Bob Long Torpedo Regulator on my automag classic. However, I was also thinking of either getting an X-Valve or just a Level 10 upgrade.

My first question would be X-Valve or just Level 10? Is it worth the extra $140 for the X?

My follow-up would be, given this pressure discussion, if I put a torpedo regulator on the gun...would I be limiting the pressure to the internals too low to allow it to function properly?

Thanks.

The Classic/X Valve is a regulator in itself, so there's no need to add a second one in your set up.

That is one hell of an on/off rig you've got going there!

That is not part of the gun setup, it's just a reg tester I made for work.

REALLY!? :hail:

I did not know that. So a regulator or stabalizer is pretty much useless on a Mag? What about an expansion chamber? I see ex chambers on alot of Mag photos...is that just a way to allow CO2 usage or does it add somewhat to the performance? Or is it just a more expensive front grip?

Interesting...look at me learn stuff! :bounce:

Exp chambers are used so that liquid co2 doesnt get into the gun.

To summarize...if you run nitro on your mag, an expansion chamber is completely useless? :ninja:  :ninja:

I know someone that has a hurricane regulator on a minimag. Does this mean that the regulator is completely useless on that particular marker?

On the original topic, I would like to add that my x-valve, back when I used an Intelliframe, would shoot with absolute perfect reactivity at a 600psi input from the tank. I know that is considered the bottom of the HP range, but that is still very low for the valve to have worked as good as it did. Seriously, you didnt have to find the sweet-spot, if you were accustomed to a mag trigger you could just hold it down and it would fire full auto around 16bps.

Now that I have changed tanks and frames (850psi set output tank, Hyperframe), I have had to tweek the valve so that it can handle the pressure, which is odd, and I am still having small leaks out the back of the valve, down the barrel, and out of the small holes on the side of the valve. Adjusting the velocity nut on the back of the valve changes where the leak occurs to one of the three places listed.. which is also very odd. I have taken apart the valve and oiled and checked the o-rings, but everything seems fine. The frame also works exceptionally well given that I am using the longer Centerflag on/off pin as opposed to the ULT, which I have yet to afford at the moment. If anyone has any advice on my problem, I will greatly appreciate it!

I would go back to using 600 to 650 psi input pressure to you valve.

Cant. My adjustable reg broke, so now im having to use a set HP reg.

Yes. The absolute BEST thing you can do for your valve is to leave it stock--unless you're adding a ULT or Level 10.
