View Full Version : If You Could Have Only One Marker...

What would it be? Remember, just one. This would be the marker you will be using for the next five years. Money is to be ignored in this equation. Just your opinion. It can be any production or custom marker generally available. You can add the "why" if you would like.

"Generally available"? Then mine probably doesn't fall into the category, but I'll take the FN 303.

Yes, the FN 303 ...

That's the gun that the Boston Police used to kill the young girl after the Red Sox game last year.

Err, is it advertised as less than lethal or less lethal?

Because less than lethal is pretty much the same thing as non lethal, isnt it?

The proper term for a weapon like the 303 is "less than lethal". But Army would know better than I, so we'll see what he says.

I'd keep my E-Mag.

It's not the fastest or most efficient but it's plently fast for me (I play back) and it ALWAYS works which has become one of the most important factors for me.

Augiedoggy18
06-15-2005, 03:01 PM
Non-lethal - Something that will not kill someone (Pepper Spray)
Less than Lethal - A force option that is not designed to kill someone, although it can under certain circumstances (Beanbag rounds, Tazer, etc.)

Everybody happy now?

yeh, because that was the intent of that officer when he fired the weapon. It wasn't to disband a crowd that had been given a lawful order some time earlier to do just that. Way to dramatize a tragedy that either side should have been able to handle better.

I like my old defiant. All i have to do for servicing is lube the ram and clean it. Its fast too, its got chaos and eyes so its good to go. Itll keep up with jsut bout everything. Its ugly too, and nobody i know has a defiant like mine so ill keep it, cause its cool. Plus, when i get the time im going to mill it with my dad to lighten it up cause it weighs a ton. One thing i cant say about my gun is that its pure sex, thast just gross.

I don't currently own one, but with that requirement in place it would have to be a classic RT. Theres something cool about a carbide tipped sear anyways, and that all stainless construction is... well solid.

my freestyle, maybe with new regs and a system-x on/off asa (yeah i know, system x, shut up its nice.)

It's kinda strange that nobody already choosed a phantom :).

I would keep my phantom but I would add a few accessories to it. First a matching T-stock, a matching vertical feed body (so I could swich from SC feed to bulk loader), a matching 12 grams adaptor. I would be able to customize my phantom for every level of pump play with all this.

I still love my ULE RT custom ;) but it's no match compared to my phantom. When you get on the field with a phantom it's like having a 6th sense :ninja:

Thats really a tough one. I have enjoyed my Matrix more than any other marker I have ever owned. But given that it can go down due to unexplicable forces outside my control....
I would have to go with the Emag. Its quick enough in E mode to run with anything, fun as hell in Hybrid mode, and reliable as any Mag out there in Mech mode, something my Trix doesn't have. With the Warp feed it has a great profile and always turns heads wherever I go.

A 2002 Type 3 Black Unmilled Viking with the front asa rounded.

New style noids

EYE's and JMJ eye covers.

Tadao or WAS

Old style black dye stickie grips.

Pipe Kit with stiffi tip.

CCM no rise.

New style Uni-mount, black

Smoke tadao Halo B

Crossfire 68/4500 with a empire cover.

That IMO is the ultimate tourney ball paintballgun set up.

I'm a Viking guy myself.
I loves them vikings.

if i had to pic it would be an emag, you have good speed, you have mechanical mode, plus you have the standard emag modes, as others have said not the most efficient and not the fastest but 3 well placed shots are better than 200 badly placed ones :D oh yeah i cant forget its a mag so major problems are practically non exisistant :shooting:

An electro phantom with a custom vert grip. Yea I've priced the project out and it'd come to around $2000+. I'd probably have Punisher do it. Think about it, small, lightweight, efficient, accurate, consistant, easy to maintain, fast, etc. It's everything a mag is plus efficient.

A convertable full length Squall. This is probably the most versitle gun out there.

Can take 12 grames or CA
Can be stick fed (spring or rock n' cock) or DF
It can be semi or pump

deadbox101
06-21-2005, 10:14 PM
No. An electric phantom would not be like an electric autococker. The design of the gun is different.

what exactly is different? Im guessing if it would be an electric phantom it would have pneumatics so he wouldnt have to cock it every shot.

warbeak2099
06-21-2005, 10:18 PM
Um it'd be single tube for one thing. It would probably have a combination of Lapco, Carter, and CCI internals for optimum efficiency. It's basically be a single tube e-cocker. But, that's my idea of the uber gun.

That or a somehow efficient electro mag with a vert frame and eyes.

personman
06-21-2005, 10:38 PM
what exactly is different? Im guessing if it would be an electric phantom it would have pneumatics so he wouldnt have to cock it every shot.
Here are some pics to illustrate the differences. They are the same pneumaticwise, but different on the inside. Here is an animated gif of what a phantom would look like when you cock it..
http://www.p8ntball226.com/nelson.gif

I couldnt find any sniper animated gifs but here is a pgp which works very similarly to the sniper so you can get the idea of the differences..

http://www.stockclasspaintball.com/images/guntechpics/PGP-X.gif

The only thing the same about an ecocker and an ephantom design wise would be that they are pumps converted to semi using pneus.. :)

Muzikman
06-21-2005, 11:47 PM
Phantom is Nelson based

Cocker is Sheridan based

Two totally different designs. About the only thing compatible between them is the main spring.
