Ok, I have a DiskDr, one of those optical disk repair devices. Just tried it for the first time today on a DVD that had a couple minor scratches that prevented it from being played. After running the disk through this thing, it seems MUCH more scratched up now, and still won't play. I've run it through multiple times with no improvement. Is there a trick to this thing or what?

Throw it away, and take better care of your stuff. Works for me!

Reading the instructions works, seeing that they tell you to buff the disc with the felt pad after you put it to the wheel.

Yeah, I tried that, and it didn't help.I tired light buffing, I tried heavy buffing, nothing worked.

I always rip new CD's onto my computer when I get one so I can always make a new copy.

Not that this helps you now. :(
