Wouldn't that make it interesting?

A new strategy could be to shoot the bunkers to reduce visibility.

You have to shoot the crap out of a bunker before you can sneak up on someone. :p

Yeah that would pretty much eliminate bunkering. What is paintball without watching people getting bunkered.

A few years back I played at a field where their speedball field consisted of wooden bunkers, where about half of them were about the size of a shipping pallet. The other half had the same base, but then they had a pair of 2x4's that rose about 6ft off the ground, and had netting strung between them, so you didn't have to crouch down, and you could look staight through.

I think it would be a blast to play on a field like that lol. Not for serious tourny play, but a cool change of course. Ya know, just to fool around. A place with multiple fields should build one. It obviously shouldn't be the only field, but if people want to just have some fun on the "glass" field, that'd be neat.

YEA! that glass field would be great until somone slides into the dorito, shattering it and dieing of losing too much blood. :tard:

But seriously I think that a see-through field wouldnt be much fun, all the fronts wouldnt need back players. Everyone know where everyone is, so good communication isn't such an advantage. I dont think it would be much fun.

It would be great for rec-ball--that's about it. I think it would be a cool change of pace/scenery.

Shoot the hell out of bunkers. Isnt that what most kid ballers do any way??

I once played at a field that had 5 Lexan bunkers along the 50. It was dubbed no-man's Land. Highly defendable position if you could get there, but you're basically hosed once your in those bunkers because you can't leave them really once you're in 'em unless you have some good support or just can run'n gun like a madman.

All in all it would change the focus of the game I think, people wouldn't be trading paint as much with eachother head's up because being able to see which side your opponent is posted on and which side the other guy's going to be popping out will remove the element of surprise. I'd imagine you'd see more cross field and lock-down techniques used if there were a field like this.

This subjects come up quite a bit here over the last few years, I'm kinda suprised no ones tried it out yet.

It'd make for a cool game video/dvd too.

I've played on a field that used left over plexiglass for several bunkers. It was fun but it only took a second or two to paint the bunker enough that the person in it couldn't really see anything.

I played on a field once that used PVC piped frames and standard netting that actually made up the bunker. It was really interesting and some times you would be shooting at them thinking they were in the open and then realizing that none of the balls were actually getting to them. Also since it was netting the balls didn't break much on it.

I believe there was a field like that in that digital paintball game online.

Challenge Park here in illinois (host of shatnerball) has a field called networks, which is all flat bunkers made of netting. THey allow blindfiring on it (technically its not blind). The games flat out sucked on it, you couldnt bunker anyone or move much for that matter. It had to be one of the worst fields I've ever played on
