Oh come on, i didnt say it was the same thing! Works similiar to it though. The bolt is similiar. I cant search here so that narrows finding some results to 0.

Here is my plea

The mag, has the bolt that is held back by a sear. Once the sear is pulled away, the bolt is pushed forward by expanding gas behind the piston (cant find the right word) that reaches back in a shaft with air behind it. Then, the on/off shuts off air flow and a spring pushes it back for the sear to be reset. Then when ya let go of the trigger, the on off is on and it refills the air chamber.

Here is a mag

this is the best diagra i could find for the freestyle.

this is evolves kit, so it may be a lil different.

I hope you guys know how mags work. Now, the purple part being the bolt uses the same principle to move forward. The gasses behind it press it forward. The only thing different behind this and the mag is the sear basically. I know there are smaller things that are different but not my point.

The mag, instead of using air to push the bolt back, uses a spring to reset the bolt
The freestyle uses regulated air to hold back the bolt.

To start the firing mechanism, the mag pulls down the sear to let the gasses expand to move the bolt

The freestyle releases the air thats holding the bolt and oh look, allows the bolt to be pushed by expanding air.

So, anybody else see why i think they are similiar to mags?

1 Point for nick.

they function somewhat similar in some ways, but they are not the same at all.....

Lets compare:

in my mind its like comparing any electro stacked blowback, they work on the same principles but are not the same thing.

or i'm retarded

Thats true, i just thought they looked VERY alike. And being how i am, i allways like to know how things work.

Also, check out the air chamber, they are bout the same shape. And if it werent for the On off and sear, they could be almost the same thing lol.

Its wierder now that i look at it, i like being wierd.

baisically, the spring has been replaced by air, the on off by a solenoid, and the air reg by an inline. The same?. No not exactly, there is a stem in the back of the bolt, which seals off the chamber, where in the mag this was done by the on off.

The fs is really what the E-mag should have been. The system is quite similar to a mag, or an alleycat, and all of the other blow forewards ICD used to make.

I think they have more in common than most of us would give credit for...

But I think magman hit it on the head, its a blow forward and all blow forwards are apt to look similar, just like all blowbacks look like other blowbacks

It is close but the evolve animation is not in production. The freestyle does not shut off the air source into the dump chamber(mag has on/off). But as was said the spring and sear have been replaced with a low pressure solenoid.

It is more similar to a mag than anyother paintball marker I am aware of. I agree it could have came from agd.

I agree.

This IMHO is why people say they are "the same."
