it looks like the same tank i have on my armageddon. i've never seen the neck like that on any tanks not from air america. now i'm letting you know, i'm not sure, but i think air america uses a custom thread. i'm not sure. i think you need to get an air america reg.

i'm no expert either, but those threads look normal to me. look the same as the threads in co2 tanks.
as for "tops", otherwise known as regulators, can be found at any major online paintball store, any large proshops, or here. get someone certified to install it for you.

there standerd threads

buy a 47/3k dirt cheap have your shop swap the reg from tank to tank and toss out the 47/3k

i have seen alot of 47/3k selling for around 40 buck's

you wont have to dig hard to find one

I started looking for the cheap 47ci tanks with regs but the reg wouldn't be new. My local shop sold me new PMI 3k regs for $42 each so call your local shops and see what they can do. Other inexpensive option is http://www.guerrillaair.com/

I talked to the guys at Guerilla air quite a bit at IAO - very friendly people, very involved in the sport. I really liked some of the features of there bottles and regs, both for performance and safety. That being said I have no idea on recharge rates or such, but I doubt you would be dissatisfied.

I just picked up a guerilla air tank. Although I haven't had the chance of using it yet, but I love the fact thats is semi-adjustable.

i know, it was a joke ;). you said you were looking for a top for your tank, hence tank top. most people call em regs.

there are many great regs you could get. since its a 3k tank your best bet would probably be swapping the reg from a cheap used 48 ci tank, or maybe be lucky enough to find just a reg on ebay. otherwise you could go with a more expensive reg, like a new guerilla air reg or dynaflow or other adjustable, but if youre going to shell out that money you might as well get a new tank and go for a 4500 psi.
