I nead to know if my tank is a three or a five year tank. I thought I saw a web site posted at some point for the DOT where you could put the tank numbers in and it would give you the tank Hydro date. Any help would be appriciated.

I can take pics but AO wont let me post them. The tank says DOT-E 10915-4500 under that it says EK 15422 LUXFER REE:21 the hyro date is 3/01
It also says at the bottom that it needs to be hyroed every theee years but I know that they changed it to five years retroactivly on some takes that where already out that said three year hydro on them. I just dont know if this tank applies.

I appriciate your trying to help but I am pretty sure you are incorrect that all tanks that dont say five are three year tanks. The change over went into effect in 01 so some but not all 01 tanks are considered five year tanks even if they say three, I just dont know which ones. Again i do appriciate your trying to help me out

After the first re-hydro, a 3 year tank becomes a 5 year tank, depending on your DOT number.

And this is one of those tanks. Currently, it is a 3 year tank and is *expired* as of 03/2004. Once it's retested it should be good for another 5 years after the test date.
