I would just like to confirm that the programs i use to see my clocking readouts are reliable:

cpu-z
speedfan
wizard

i run a stock clocked "1.1 ghz" athlon xp, but what all the programs and my bios is telling me, is that i have it up to 2.2 ghz at 40c idle.

is this really possible (first overclocked system) andonly tweaking the multiplier and cpu mHz mildly?

CPU-z is reliable for the most part, its only a rare occasion that Ive seen it wrong. Speedfan is craptastic. No idea what wizard is. Where are you getting the temp readings? Run F@H for a day or two and see what happens.

have you tried running prime95 for 24 hours to see if it's stable? When you say you tweaked the mulitplier and cpu mhz slightly does that mean you only bumped the multiplier and didn't touch the front side bus? Seems pretty crazy to up it that much and not touch the voltage at all.

one time i tried oc'ing my comp... then it didn't turn on 5 seconds after saving settings... lol.. good thing i got a safety switch..

i had it at 2.4 with a slight voltage increase...

that is till someone broke my fans and the computer didnt do its "emergency overheat shutoff"
