so yeah, basically i just got bored yesterday, and decided to test out my new bandsaw. my dad loves bargain tools and he found last years display model at sears with a broken case, and jumped on the deal. i think it was about half off.

i was a bit worried about the slots putting too much friction on the bolt, but its delrin and although i havent shot it yet it slides fine. the price on cockers has taken such a hit i wouldnt be risking much anyway though. the only negative effect would be that itl be annoying to clean if i get a gunshot.

i wasnt able to put it together yet though because the valve o-ring is shot, and i cant find a replacement  i guess ill just have to wait a bit... its been laying in pieces for a while too, i wanted to be able to use it :(.

oh. and i made the bolt too :D

Looks pretty tight actually. You did this freehand?

Might consider rounding the sharp edges a bit before you slice yourself open....

yep. just drew out the design with a sharpie (if you dont like it it will rub right off a gloss ano), the bandsaw cut through it like it was butter, then i spent a while filing and sanding it. its still sort of rough, but i got tired of it.

nah... its not really that sharp, ill just have to be careful when i dive ;)

it doesnt look bad, if it was up to me id take the whole middle section off where the bolt goes.

meh, i didnt want to do any more lathe work. i had to cut it down from 1" round stock, the diameter you need for a bolt isnt exactly stock you can find at the store. maybe i will eventually get around to milling it down, itd drop the weight a bit. i actually sorta like the look though, the way it is now.

I think it looks like a really clean job. I nicely though out patern as well.

Personaly I'd get it re-anno'd. They clean up any little rough areas when they stripped and polished the rest of the body.

It's always nice to see that you really can do a good job without a C&C mill. :)

yeah, i thought of re-anoing it, since it would really make it look better, but the problem is its a $150 marker (market value) and a good ano would cost anywhere from $100 to $200. maybe ill have to look into getting a home setup... :)

oh, and a CNC mill wouldnt be a bad thing ;)

Thats amazingly sexxy... Came out nice for a job that you just hopped into... I wish all my hop into projects turned out like that...

When have paintballers ever let that stop them? ;) :D

Cool job. Now if you could get the back peice (whatever its called I'm no cocker expert) to match the design, I think it would look really sweet.

you mean around the feed tube? i dont think the feed tube unscrews, so id end up cutting/scraping it up.
