Now this is probobly a silly question BUT I just bought a old Bushy as a project/backup gun and the person I was buying it from slapped on a Ion reg because he didn't want to include his gladiator so I was wondering if a Ion reg is any good or if it's crap. Anyone know about how acurate it is or such? Thanks guys!

Ion regs are not very consistant, you should probably think about getting a decent reg, such as a AKA reg, or maybe the new dye regs, those work GREAT on my proto.

Ion regs are good, not the best, but ok.

How would they compare to a stock bushy reg?

not as good as a 2 liter but consistant enough

agree w/ warped. ion regs are ok and much better than a stock bushy reg.

Cool thanks for the help guys... Yeah I think I'll not worry about getting another reg for a bit, post a wtb on pbn and wait for that perfect desperate person to give me the reg on want at half what it goes for

I have question. Is there any data to back up these claims? What makes the Ion reg better? What makes the CP reg better?

Somewhere i saw a chart of recharge times of common regs (i believe somewhere in haveblue's mess-o-info) and the 2 best were an aka reg and palmers reg. Now if i can find that chart i will post it and maky that can help with your decision; however i will not say one reg is batter than another as its difficult to quantify better. Assuming you mean faster recharge this chart (if it can be found) will prove better, however if "better" is more consistant, more reliable, smaller, lighter ect. i cant help you much. And it seems these folks cant either. (assuming you all provided all the info you had on these reg decisions already).

hard rock, a reg in my book has to recharge quickly, and be consistent, of which, the afformentioned regs are, the tops at the time are the AKA 2liter and Sidewinder, dye hyper2, cp, and palmers fatty. The ion reg is good, not the greatest not the worst, i mean it comes on a sub 300 dolar gun. It isnt the most consistent or the fastest, but it works. the stock bushy reg, is crap.

and how do you know that these regs have the propertys mentioned? Just a guess? or when you shot them at ~X bps you noticed consistancy in shot placement? or you checked them with pressure sesnors and computers? What how do you know this?

Many people know Ford trucks are built Ford tough; because Ford told them so  . I hope your explination is better.

ok link to the chart http://haveblue.org/dyno/5jun04dyno.jpg
so looking at it again i was wronng palmer reg is nothing special; now this doesnt include a bushy or ion reg, but it will help you on your quest for "better"

Didn't it have the ICD 04 reg at the top?

Your not looking for just the highest line when looking at that chart.

The Mystery reg on that graph is the AKA 2Liter. The graph shows that a 2Liter recharges significantly faster than other regs (in the test) and that it's quite consistant.

How do you know that? Is it posted somewhere? I was thinking about asking Haveblue what it was tonight. (im not saying it isnt, just asking how you know)

because when aka released the 2 liter, aka and haveblue confirmed that it was infact the 2 liter.

and i have shot the afformentioned regs, and noticed nothing but performance.

Skoad try to read the thread before you comment perhaps....Hardrock said that Bushy regs weren't on the chart, I was just commenting that they were
