Ok, so a buffy of mine has a Spyder Compact A. Pretty much stock. And it isn't working right. While I said I would try to fix it, he is thinking of buying something new :D

But I don't know what to tell him to get. He used my classic mag and did pretty well with it. Didn't shoot a lot of paint, but was only eliminated twice. Got several eliminations too.

He wants something new. He's got about $200 dollars to spend. I'm not quite sure about getting him a mag, he said he didn't really like the feel of mine (wtf!?!? my mag is da bomb!! )

I don't want to say "Oh get a tippman" like everyone else, partly because I was never really a big fan. And since I've spent my time looking at Egos, Emags, and Timmys, I have no knowledge of entry and mid level markers.

So any suggestions? Would particularly like something that runs on a compressed air tank, cus I'll probably give him my 48/3k

Last I checked BNIB prices...

B2K4 PDS $200
Ion $220
Piranha EVO SE $190 (http://bosspaintballproducts.com/Paintball%20guns.htm)

All would be good choices and he can get away with using a Revy, which can be had for cheap. Overall I would lean towards the Ion. This is comming from a guy who hates their guts, go figure. Also, I would state that 'Mags' are an acquired taste, therfore not for everyone.

well , with his experience being with stack tubed markers.... I'd have him look into an EVO if he wants antichop eyes etc they are running $159 all over the place right now. The 2006 GTI from PMI is a sweet little marker also in he is looking for an electro.. If he is a kingman fan & short on cash the revamped sonix kit ( mask ,tank ) is selling for around $100. Again if he wants an electro the imagine is a great bang for the buck.

Oooh ooh ooh, a Trilogy cocker. I had the pleasure of using one a couple times and they are great. Pretty good quality. And it's a cocker for under $200. Check em out, they're not bad at all.

tell him to save up some more money and get a nicer one. 200 is really limiting. Maybe after christmas he will have some more to spend.

And Mags arent all that comfy either. You can short-stroke them which turns some ppl off. They are single tube and you gotta bend your neck over to see down the barrel, which is how I shoot. Either that or you have to lift the gun up higher on your shoulder. They are kinda backheavy too.

anyway, save up. thats my 2 cents.

$200? Find a used electro, like a used Wrath or used stock Ion.

Make sure he knows he'll need N2 for anything decent. Having that said, TELL HIM TO GET A B2K4!! You can get them for really cheap, brand new. IE:

Well, I found a really old Shocker in amazing condition with 68/45 and revvie for $150 at my local pro shop. Check stuff there. Just because it was top-notch a few years ago doesn't mean it's poor quality today. Shoot, all this thing needs is a lighter switch, it's still amazing.
