PTP Micromag

Hi. My buddy just a got a PTP Micromag 2000, I think that's the proper name. It's a vert feed, not an older power feed style. Any way, I was just wondering what's the story behind the Micromags. From what I can tell at their site, they don't produce them any more. Any bit of history would be nice. Thanks.
