Can anyone point me to an online source for heatshrink tubing. I want to wrap my ss line but I haven't found anything locally.

Thanks,
Earthy

But, what you want is "Heat Shrink Tubing". Not wrap.

This is probably a noob question, but what size tubing should I get? :tard:

Go to www.mouser.com and do a search for heat-shrink tubing. It's not high at all.

Size wise, they are listed by their unshrunk inside diameter (ID). The tubing will shrink (or recover as they say) to 1/2 the listed size (IE, 1/8" tubing will recover to 1/16" ID when heated).

That should get you started.

Just remember not to burn the tubing when trying to shrink it. If you use a match or a lighter, be careful. The stuff burns very nicely . . . . . :ninja:

Why not just buy 2 connectors and a couple of feet of macro and just macro it?

Because, IMHO, Macro sucks. I had nothing but leaks and problems when I used it. Went back to Stainless and used the heat shrink for aesthetics and have had no problems.

I already have macro on my mag now (bought it this way), but I prefer ss line. :)

SS has a higher burst rating, and as long as you use a QD of some kind on your valve it's just as fast to field strip the valve. I've read a few post of people who have had Macro burst and I haven't seen any about SS line bursting. Again just my $0.02. BTW for the last year I've used Macro on my mag without any problems, but I've cringed a few times when I've dived into bunkers and had the macro snag on something. :ninja:

Check the dealer section. I just bought some AO heat shrink. He has a lot of colors too.

WHY?!

I only use SS as well. Just have always had bad luck with macro (whenever I go paintballing with macro it ends up bursting on me)

SS is relatively worry free.

Although it will cost you because of the distance involved take a look at this thread about fittings and hose. I use this system rather than macroline due to me liking the use of my eyes. Read the entire thread with the specs, you might get a little worried when you realise the actual ratings of what you are currently using...this includes SS as well.

As far as heat shrink tubing, you can get a variety box of 3M FP-301. I use it at work and because it's 3M, it's quality. You won't be disappointed.
