Overrated. I've shot the FiveseveN, but it's not worth the expense. It's a neat toy, I guess, but screw the ammo prices. With that P90, again, it's a neat toy, but the magazines are expensive, as is the ammo.

Not worth the expense unless you have money to burn. Or unless you are some big fan of rainbow six or something. Not that I haven't been tempted to get one myself.

The P90 was designed as a weapon for vehicle crews and rear-echelon troops. So it wasn't designed to be a full-on combat weapon. The only reason you see them being used by SWAT teams and the like is becasue they are small and handy. When clearing rooms you need a gun thats short and quick to point.

And be prepared to pay out the behind for the guns, and especially the ammo.

My advice? Get a nice AR, a Sig or colt-clone, and save some money.

Easily one of the ugliest pistols out there, along with the Israeli Barak.

those are cool if you can afford them. p90 civilian legal ammo is expensive considering their size. since its not us caliber (i believe) you cant get in surplus so you're ganna have to fork over a few dollars.

but if you do have that much, i'd say get a kimber. their warriors are beautiful pistols, but more then a high end paintball 'gat'
but for some reason you'd want a cheap rifle, sks' can be found for 150-250 price ranges, and they're just as fun, as long as your not planning to pwn n00bs 1337. :)

Kimbers are also overrated. You're paying for the name, and there have been quality control issues in the past.

There is nothing wrong with an SKS, you just have to expect it to be what it is: a fun plinker, not a match rifle.

The P-90 is cool but the $1500 price tag is a rough one. Supposedly they are nearly un-jammable....? Ammo is expensive as noted. I've seen the 50 round magazines go for about $50-$65 at discount online. I considered getting one a bit later but changed my mind to M1A-SOCOM.

Actually, it's quite the opposite. If a fully loaded mag is not impeccably clean, or is dropped, feeding can be greatly impaired due to the magazine's design.

Agreed, they have some issues, as do their stablemates, the F2000. I mean, an ejection tube sounds cool, until you remember that soldiers tend to stick their guns in bad stuff like mud and dirt.

I have an AR, and its great. I also want to get an M1 or FAL for some bigger-bore plinking.

If you want to buy a cutting edge military type rifle, wait until they release a civilian SCAR, or the loser in the SCAR competition, the Robinson XCR.

You can't go wrong with a FAL or a FAL clone. My STG-58 is tough as nails, and it's easily a 400 yard gun with the irons.

The '74 was the redesign which used a smaller caliber (much to Kalashnikov's displeasure).

People that still call them AWM's are lame.

EDIT: Especially when you here someone say it over a mic. "I got an AWHM." A what? "An AWHMM"

And that would be why the MP-5 and all of its variants are used worldwide and it's the benchmark for all CQB SMGs.

If you have money to blow, buy an MP-5 that shoots 9mm or .40SW. They've always been available and they are economical to shoot as long as you can get over the $5,000 sticker on the gun.

Here's a link to Connecticut's DPS site (in particular, the section regarding firearms): http://www.ct.gov/dps/cwp/view.asp?a=2158&q=294488

About halfway down, there's a link to a .pdf listing what's not allowed: http://www.ct.gov/dps/lib/dps/special_licensing_and_firearms/assault_weapons.pdf

Too bad I just sold my FAL not too long ago!

I'm not a fan of the P90. Interestingly, I am a fan of the 5-7. That's mostly due to the 20rd magazines and the cool factor though. $40 for ammo is pretty steep for shooting however.

I'd reccomend an FAL varient, but I'm an FN whore.

Unfortunately I'm currently weaponless.

I do want a 10mm though.... :ninja:
