I just got a Minimag. Shoots great and feels great, but now I want it to look great. So, what I want to do is get rid of the flat black and polish the sucker to a mirror finish. Sooo...how do I do that?

Of course I have a dremel. What good airsmith in training doesnt. $5 a gun through my school. Its how I make money, and sometimes I get to keep guns that they dont want for free  that only needs a new o-ring.
So whats rouge? The polishing wheel I can do easily. And do I need to strip the grey stuff (powdercoat?)

The powdercoating will come off with the buffing wheel, but its easier to try and strip a little off first with some 600 grit sand paper or something. It takes forever with just a buffing wheel, if thats all you have to use.

you could even use some whitening toothpaste in a pinch

Looks like you got most of it. I think if you just give it a good buff it should come out nice. Looks great!

I am going to do the exact same thing.
My brand new dremel with 120 pieces will be here wednesday or thursday :)
Then I will purchase some rouge and get it shiny as can be.

not gonna happen with the rouge. You need to keep sanding. 220, 400, 600, 1500, 2 or 3000 to make it like a mirror. Wet sand...with water. Then polish on the wheel with green compound for stainless. ;)

I figured that one out already Tuna. Its more of a gun metal finish now. But I really like it. Its much better than the flat grey that it was. But at the moment, Photobucket is down, so I will get some pics up once it is online again.
