I am getting ready to order a charger for a new to me Emag. I have to option of getting the car charger or the wall unit. Besides price is there any difference in performance of the chargers? Also what legth of time is needed to fully charge a battery.

Here is a question for future reference, does the battery need to be depleted before charging?

Thank you

Either will work, actually I have a charger brand new never used from AGD that I would be willing to part with for $70 shipped. You can have a wall charger from radio shack at an additional $20 if you prefer as well. If you to alot of traveling i always found the car charger to be best, just throw my battery on as i went to the turny or the day i play, I am then never without a fully charged battery. Wall chargers are nice as well since you dont have to run out to your car everytime you want to charge. I just found car chargers to be nicer.

And no the batteries do not have memory so they do not need to be depeleted before charging.

with the cost of the car unit I am pretty sure that is the route I will go. for the price of it I can get a RS 12VDCpower supply for cheap and have a wall unit as well.

Thank you for the offer of the charger though.

If you have a sear for an Emag I would be interested in it.

What charger are you ordering?

I believe the car charger I got an estimate for was $8.00

And here is the RS wall power supply unit (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103959&cp=2032056.2032145&pg=1&numProdsPerPage=20&parentPage=family).
13.8 VDC as I remember is true automotive battery voltage.

What kind of charger is it though? $8.00????

Charging the Battery

The most valuable information you could have about your charger is not to lose it. It's a very expensive replacement part($80) due to all the labor it takes to build it properly. This is why it's also not a good idea to try and build your own charger. When charging the battery in the car, only use the cord supplied by AGD. If you want a wall charger, not just anything will do. Go to Radio Shack and buy thier 12-Volt 1500mA AC-to-DC Power Adapter($19.99)(pictured below). Make sure it has the blue tip with the tip inserted in the proper polarity! Dont charge your battery overnight. When it's charging, you'll see a red light. Green is supposed to be charged, but the light actually turns green once the battery has about a 80% charge. You could leave it on for about another 30-60min to let it completely charge. A completely dead battery shouldn't take longer than 4-6 hours to completely charge. A properly charged battery should read 20-22volts.

Nah I wasnt going to build my own I was just going to piece two parts together. The $8.00 quote was from tuna, and it is indeed for a car E-mag charger unit.

Just take that and plug it into the RS power supply which has a matched auto output of 13.8 Vdc .

The power supply you posted, will that be okay for the battery?

A charger for $8.00. Maybe the car cord.

I think instead I will purchase the afore mentioned RS power transformer.

You will still NEED one of these which are 80.00 at store.airgun.com

And the RS power transformer is just replacing this which is $9.00 at store.airgun.com

So even if I got the car charger cord I would still need the $80.00 pack? If I bought the supply that beemer talked of I still need the $80.00 pack?

alright im a pretty visual person. I would like to see some pics of the charger apparatus. Or at least items listed leading from power source and going to the gun.

Also the power transformer that beemer spoke of what would that plug into?

sorry , its getting late for me. and the more I try to envision it the more confused I am .

okay so that RS wall mount power transformer plugs into the AGD charger unit, which then has a cable that goes to the batt. The car charger cord merely replaces the RS power transformer.

Is that correct.

Does the AGD power supply come with a cord/pack that plugs into the wall, and one that goes from the charger to the battery?

Easiest way i know, step by step.

1. Remove battery from emag
2. Place emag chargerpack on battery. Lock in place with field strip screw.
3. Plug in the car charger into car cigirette output OR Plug RS home transformer pack into wall
4. Plug other end of car charger OR RS transformer into emag charger pack (Which should be on the battery at this point due to step 2)
5. Wait for red light to turn Green.
6. Take off charger pack from battery.
7. Unplug charger cord from wall OR car
8. Attach battery to emag.

No the charger cord is an additional $9.00 on top of the $80.00. Also another $20.00 for the wall adaptor. Thats why I was saying i would sell you the charger pack with car and wall adaptor for a total of $90.00.

So you would be saving about $30.00 after you consider the shipping agd would charge.

I can see where I was mistaken now.

psychoballer had just given me some additional info before you posted.

My initial info was not bad, it was just unspecific. I was already under false pretences before I asked, I suppose I desireve this icon for today :tard: .

Anyway

I am interested in your setup. Do you per chance have an Emag sear to go along with it?
