i need some rope to go through the following image's circles

should look similar to the image at http://www.cavediver.net/temp/mugb.jpg
would like the rope/line to be white(but look like normal braided rope) and the arrow to be 4 different color options:
White, Red, Blue, Yellow
all with proper shadowing on the edges of the arrow as well...
can anyone help me out with this?
