Does anyone know what knife Jack used? I need a new knife, and, frankly, if Jack Bauer carries it, I want to too :D

Didn't take very long to find

It is a Halo 3 you can find it here http://nicnac.net/ I can't link directly to the page so you have to put in Halo 3 in the search box (only click the 2nd box not the 1st as it doesn't find anything with the 1st box)

http://nicnac.net/media/halo305satin.jpg

Overall length 9.3 inches. Blade length 4 inches material CM-154. Overall length 8.1 inches.

Blade is retracted by handle located in rear of handle. weight 3.6 oz.

Ballistic nylon belt multi angle convertable sheath attaches horizontally, vertically or to web gear included. Lifetime warranty.

Claw logo with charging bar dated 07/2005 and marked Microtech HALO III.

AVAILABLE WITH SATIN BLADE, BLACK BLADE OR TACTICAL ( ALL BLACK with molded kydex sheath) VERSIONS with Plain HONED or partially SERRATED BLADES!!!

You may have seen a HALO I, II or III in such movies as Men in Black, Eraser and a couple of Chuck Norris films as well as the TV series 24. They wouldn't use them if they weren't cool but to a collector that means that these knives are timeless in their collectibility. As long as they keep apearing in front of people they will grow in demand and price.

With the kukri...don't you technically have to draw blood from someone everytime it's drawn from it's sheath or it supposedly puts bad luck on the person drawing it? or is that another native knife?

Hmmm . . . I disagree. Frankly, I could spend $300 less at CRKT and get a fine quality blade. Though it wouldn't be used by Jack Bauer :(

Question: Ummm . . . Jack's knife is described as an "out the front" knife. Doesn't that make it a switchblade, and thus illegal?

depends on to what degree you state hugs trees...

in my state, they are legal... however your locality will likley be different...

dont get me wrong, I like CRKT... good kit at reasonable cost. And its not something semi decent that puts cash into Lynn Thompson's pocket.

I give CRKT's as presents to stop friends from carrying crappy folders that will most likley fail them... But I carry my Strider's cause well its the best hard use kit I can find.

I have to agree, CRKT's are my favorites now and have been so for about a year.

I carry the m16-13sf, and a ryan model 7. The ryan is my favorite. Looking at getting a m21, with the spear point tip, if I can find the large model.

Damn you guys, now I'm selling extra crap I have just to buy one of those knives. I've been needing a quality blade for a while, and that one looks great. Plus, the reviews of Microtech blades seem to indicate that they are very high quality.

I bought one of the Heckler & Koch tactical knifes w/ tanto blade. The knife itself is made by Benchmade Knife Co. but I liked the design and after getting it and using it I have to say it's one of the smoothest opening, most practical to carry knives I've ever owned.

I also own a ton of Kershaw knives because their factory is 15min away from me and every Christmas season they sell off their slightly blemished knives at about 50% off retail.

You gotta love the carson flipper design on those. My m16-sf is very similar to that one. It is extremely easy to open one handed with almost no effort.

I had a Gerber Mini Paraframe but it crapped out on me after a year of daily use. The lock will not function anymore.

So I bought a CRKT M16-13Z and LOVE IT. I wish I had bought it first.

hurm....i cant think of someone abusing a knife more than i do, and i have 2 cheapies that i trust for ecerything.

One is a simple lockblade, all stainless blade and lock with colored wood. It ran me $5.00 8 years ago....
The other i guess i dont know its cheap, but it aint nothing special its a large folding knife some kind of steel blade, it was my grandfathers....and it sure can gut a fish real quicklike. Only mark on it says kabar, which has me wondering cause i thought that is what the jar heads called their toy.

But yeah $400 for a blade? i think anyone who pays more than $20 is out of their mind.
