I'm tossing the idea around of producing Automags.org mousepads and I'm curious if anyone would be interested. Size will be appox. 7.25"x8.25" and 1/8" thick... I can do hard surface or standard cloth facing. These will be high resolution offset dye sublimation printed mousepads and not iron transfers or such. Colors will be very rich and saturated.

So far I'm thinking of a black pad with a large AO logo in the center. Price would be in the neighborhood of $14 (depends on demand) shipped via US First Class Mail with Priority Mail a few dollars more.

Here's a couple... Let me know what you guys think...

Great... I'm glad to see a few members are interested. I would need approx. 25 pre-orders as a minimum to produce them. I'll try to put a few different designs together, so the final design will be up to forum members.

am I the only one who thinks that size is too small? I dont currently use a mouse pad because they are just too small for my taste...

meh, cool idea though.

Chronobreak - the price point for the mousepad will be around $12.50 and shipping will be $1.50, so that is why I say total cost is around $14. Depending on how many people are interested I might be able to drop the price a few dollars, but it won't be any higher than $14.

bleachit - 7.25"x8.25" is a pretty nice size mousepad and you are right it's a matter of taste. Take a sheet of paper and cut it to that size and see if it works for you. I might be able to offer different sizes depending on the number of pre-orders.

a standard sheet of paper is what... 8.5"x11"?

even that I would consider too small for my use..

a 11"x11" or 12"x12" would probably be something that I wouldn want..

then again, my mouse tends to used a LOT of desk area when I play Day of Defeat.. even in general purpose computing, I use a lot of space.

but thats just me, and why I havent used a mouse pad in 2 years.

Wow... you use a ton or real estate there. I play COD and use an 8 x 8 mousepad with my gaming mouse. I switch the mouse to to a higher dpi, so small mouse movements translate into larger moves within the game. I guess it's just what you are used to... no arguements there. However, I appreciate any comments you might have on the design.

You might want to think about asking this person [email protected] first before you produce something for profit with a logo they own, and also advertising it on the site they own. Tom might well be cool with it but get clearance first ;)

Good call MarkM... I was caught up in the idea and forgot to ask for permission to use the logo. After a quick email exchange with Tom, I got the ok to proceed.
