What is the “ultimate mechanical mag”?
I have been working on my mag for a few years now, and I consider my mag to be about as close to being the “ultimate mechanical mag” as one can get. My goal is to increase the functionality of the gun. I know it is not the lightest or best-looking mag but it is about as fast as one can get.
EDIT: posted a new pic below...
What is anyone’s thoughts regarding the fabled “ultimate mechanical mag”

Mine:
Classic rail
Stainless steel RT valve
No-rise stainless steel center feed body
Intelliframe.
Light? No. Throw in my bag and work anytime I pull it out... yes

I'd say get the rail ULE'd and buy a nice barrel kit. Boom, you're done. Not much other function upgrades you can get after that.

1) Go pnuematic conversion on a vert frame with a ULT installed.
2) ULE shadow rail,
3) Deadlywind whisper barrel (Takes freak inserts I believe)
4) Deadlywind CF front grip.
That would lightest mech around for sure with the best trigger.
Yours is very nice also. One of the best mechs around!
Though, the ulitmate mech mag would have to be colin's hAir trigger Mag.

As soon as colin makes his hAir trigger avalible I will be the one of the first in line. But in the meantime I am working on a “super simple” electro frame. Here is a sneak peek into my plans…

Integrated rail trigger frame design. That isn’t a GT grip mount that is where 6 AA batteries will be attached inside a sweet looking grip much like the e-mag. I am working with another fella who designed a sweet super simple circuit to run the system. It will be semi auto as fast as you can pull it. No modes or mechanical option. I am using a 5-gram switch that I was able to get a hold of. And if I can, I will try to work in a breakbeam eye system. I have a very simple drill press mill so most of the thing will be completely hand made.
Nate,
Nice. I had a z-grip, but recently sold it to arston. I envy your flatline.

And to think.
You could buy a DIY morlock and cut out like.....hundreds of hours of time!
It isn't as easy as designing a simple circuit, to power a noid, to actuate a sear of the on/offpin.

You get it the work PROPERLY WITHOUT SIDE EFFECTS, I will be the first to eat my words.
Had to help you out there. Making something work is much easier than making it work well.

Jay. You're clearly biased.
That is SUCH a sweet mag though.

I would have to go with this one....
And it's still being used/abused to this day! :D

I would take a clasic RT and upgrade it. I know it is a pain to upgrade and maybe some upgrades won't work with it but it looks so cool.
I would have a z grip, ULT, lvl10, and a power feed left so I can use a warp if I want on the right (left handed style). Also I would have a Flatline for the enhanced RT trigger.
I would use a Q loader instead of a warp perhaps to make it the greatest mechanical marker of all time!
Whether the Z grip can use a ult or the reactive trigger I don't know but at least it is a good dream! :)

The problem with the RT classic/ULT combo isn't with the gripframe choice, it's whether or not the valve itself will accept the ULT kit.
You'd have to get it drilled to accept it, I think.

this is my mag (http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1911064#post1911064) light as a feather, l10, ult, and drop dead gorgeous looks, also has a nice shiny red barrel now and evil grips (viperblade soon to be installed). i honestly cant think of how i could make it better . (excluding the hair frame) :(
soon to be paired up with a black version which will have a pneumatic trigger. :D
some really nice marlers in here...mmm purdyy

I love my Classic RT. ;) And who needs the ULT? Pulling the trigger is NEVER as fast as letting it bounce...;)

mine might be pretty close.... link (http://www.jayloo.com/photo_gallery/show_pic.html?pGROUP_ID=6&pIMAGE_ID=33279&pSHOW_ME=standard&pUID=)
and why would the Z grip not work with the ULT, mine fits fine, althought its definetly not as "crisp" as the intelliframe
Hrmm...;)

Yeah that looks cool. I am all about the orriginal look though so that grip frame as sweet as it is would just not do it for this dream...definetly a z grip! :)

Pretty much what I am dreaming of but the orriginal RT just looks so much better to me than the rt pro sor this idea. The vented shroud is so cool.
I wouldn't mind giving that gun of yours a try however! :P

The reactive trigger is a result of the valve assembly. The ULT is a modification to the on-off assembly inside the valve. Both are useable with any mechanical frame that uses the trigger to activate the sear. Though the ULT reduces reactivity and the "bounce" from such.
