RT pro valve reg. piston

A friend's RT pro (with level 10) is leaking out the back without him being able to get up to 280 to 300 fps. I've read on here that sometimes they need a new reg piston assembly that allows them to adjust to higher pressure before venting for use with the level 10 bolt. Has anyone tried to adjust their existing reg piston to get a bit higher pressure out of the reg before venting? If so, are there any lessons learned that you can pass on to the rest of us?

Ive done it, but it can be a real pain to get the cap off of the back of the piston. There is also a seal in there that could potentially be leaking. AGD DOES NOT recomend messing around with that. Its easier to just buy a new one. Any new reg pistion for the RT should do the trick for you.
