Is this an awesome price for a great marker or is the Nerve a flop and not worth the money? What's your opinions?

It was a good gun that never found a target audience. It's what everyone wanted in an Impulse- it's lighter, comes with a fast ramping board & vision eye, with a good LPR (the first ones had a LPR that didn't work that well, but SP upgraded all of them for free). But, it was priced above a Shocker, which is lighter and smaller. Most people who wanted new guns got the Shocker, the ones that wanted a high-performance stacked tube similar to their Impulse had already upgraded their Imps with enough parts to not warrant selling it to buy a Nerve. SP never marketed the Nerve much compared to say the Shocker; most SP sponsored teams shot Shockers, and got their own PL shockers. Some players on SP teams used Nerves, but not many. Nerves are good guns (especially for that price) but they didn't fit any market niche.

I think they are a great value for the money. They weren't worth it ino when they first came out, but the new price fits perfectly.

Actionvillage is selling them for 475$ right now. If you go on Ebay and submit a best offer of 415$ you will have a very good chance of picking one up for that with free shipping. Wow!!

You better believe it's a good deal.

The only competetion in price vs performance IMO is the Promaster from ICD. I'd say it will be very close performance wise, and just a little cheaper.

You won't be mad that you bought a Nerve. It's like so many things anymore, once you've gone over about $350 in price, all the markers are performers, it's just about finding the one that doesn't have any ticks that irritate you.

The Nerve is a great gun, SP just decided to tell the public the Shocker was better. Heck, most Shockers come stock with a Nerve board these days........

My friend picked one up last week for the $475, and he's very pleased with it. I shot it and it felt great. Only time will tell on how well it holds up though.

I wouldn't know about that, first I've heard that. But who cares? Everyone likes to reanno thier crap anyway!:)

there was a batch of nerves and shovkers that used a different kind of aluminum that made it cheaper. they stopped doing that because it had problems re-annoing

I was not aware of that, good to know!

At $475, the Nerve is a better deal than a Shocker. I'd say go with it, Shockers are wastes of money when you can get guns that are just as good if not better for $400 less.

Yea, I do not know when the batch of nerves and shockers was made, but whatever batch it was the aluminum was a cheaper, easier to mill alloy that for whatever reason was hard to re-anno once anno was stripped. That is why if you look carefully a lot of Anno companies do not guarantee their work on smart parts guns.

The Nerve is a great marker, especially for that price. Its poppet valve design makes it extremely efficent, although it does kick just touch more than the spool valve designed markers. As was said above, I think the Nerve just got lost in marketing. The smaller lighter marker is the choice of many players today, and the Nerve isn't it.

The anno problem is the same across the board. A shocker goes through two games and looks like crap.

The problem with the nerve getting lost in marketing is true, but also the high initial price of it killed it from the get-go. A guy today had a nerve, said it was fine. I don't like SP, but that's just me.

I just got my Nerve a couple of weeks back for $500, and I couldn't be happier. So what if SP is discontinuing them and dumping product. If you're in the market for a new gun you should really consider this; you won't see another deal like this anytime soon.
