Does SP's new reg use two parts that are detachable from one another- i.e. does the section thats screws in to your bottle then screw in to the section that resembles an ordinary on/off- or is it a single piece ? I can't seem to find an answer anywhere else. Also, has anyone used one ? I've currently got the money and am thinking about one, but I'm wondering if they're worth it compared to what else is out there.

Its a single pice. All you do is screw a tank onto it and mount it on your gun and your good to go.
