ok so i picked up a colonial threw the local paintball store it was a mess but i cleaned it up and the other day when i was shooting it and going over it to make sure they're was no problems before i put it up for sale it started leaking out the velocity adjuster ive changed over all the internals from my mag (that did and still does work) and it still leaked out of the velocity adjuster still the valve has the 8 hole mod so i was thinking it had something todo with that possibly but i doubt it any help would be good

ok so it has todo with the back of the valve i swapped out the 8 hole modded one with the back of the minimag one i have and it works now what would cause this to happen?

What velocity are you shooting at? Over 330fps will make it vent out the back. If your velocity is under 300fps, you have a bad reg piston or bad reg piston o-ring.

im positive its under 300 and the orings were fresh it seems tobe working now tho? i put everything back the way it was in each valve and the one did the same thing so i took all the back of the valve out and cleaned and relubed it agian and it seems to be working ok but its kinda wierd to me

Give it some time, shoot the hell out of it, and feed it lots of oil. If it vents again, a new piston is only $15 from AGD.

fixed that problem but now it shoots like a couple shots per trigger pull sometimes or hisses its probably the sear tho

Is it shooting 2 balls at the same time or is your valve actually cycling twice per pull? Where is it hissing from?

you know when you short stroke it and sometimes it will cycle twice and hiss/leak abit thats what its doing but the trigger is being pulled fully back

Your short stroking could be the problem. When the gun is gassed up, how far away from the trigger is the sear rod? It should not be in contact with the trigger, there should be a small gap between them. Second, have you checked the bolt / sear for wear?

It sounds like a piece of dirt has gotten in somewhere. Since you have changed the orings, try a complete cleaning of the valve.

valve is clean and oiled and i have 2 sears and im using the one which i know is good and i know im not short stroking it i think its todo with the spring pack in the valve it seems like the velocity is up way to high even when its turned down to where it should normally shoot like 200fps

A velocity that is too high even when turned down, indicates a bad regulator seat oring.

i will try it agian but its like the 3rd one ive went threw

Make sure you don't put it in backwards.

the reg seat? or the guts out of the back of the valve(if so i know they are in properly ive got the manual here)

He's referring to the reg seat. One end is larger in diameter than the other, the larger diameter end goes into the reg half, it should fit tight. You know you got it right if the reg seat doesn't fall out of the reg half after you put it in.

wow never knew that thanks for that advice

the reg seat was in how it is suppose tobe the only problem i can think of is the sear and the on/off assembly or to much pressure going to the gun and the built in reg is putting out to much thus causing the high velocitys?

The valve can handle 3000psi, so I doubt you are putting too much pressure into the gun. As long as the regulator orings are in good shape, the regulator should be able to work properly .

The built in regulator will be able to control the velocity unless there is a leak in the regulator seat oring that allows air to get past it when the regulator pin has the opening closed. Other things that cause erratic velocity in a mag are usually attributed to dirt or damaged orings.

A hiss or leak when the trigger is pulled back and held indicates a bad on-off top oring.

Are you using genuine AGD orings or aftermarket orings? I have had problems with aftermarket orings in the past and haven't used aftermarket mag orings in any of my mags since.
