Well, since Zak moved, someone needs to step up in terms of working with a field to start the process.

I'm all for it; last years event was great.

well we really need to find a place that is in the middle for most of us. i like the idea of it being in June or so. what you guys think about that???

I sent Zak a couple of emails to see if it was going to happen but I never got a response. It is my understanding that he has moved to Colordo.

I would definately attend with at least two other AOr's.

Please............someone step up..................Please

I know of a few players that would attend. We just need that place in the middle to play.

ok well lets just walk through this.... we need a place to play that is in the middle of the state and that has good amenities like motels, food, and other good things.... so i am thinking about maybe somewhere south of San Fransisco but north of Bakersfield.

I'll be honest with you , I felt that the place where it was held last year was good. Why not try there again.

Atascadero is about half way. 214 miles from SF and 220 miles from LA. 277 miles from Sacramento and 340 from San Diego.

Besides those people already know us.

Just my $0.02 :D

According to the Angels, it's now Los Angeles! :wow:

I'm not sure for me. I'm already going to "The 8th day" in Acton this April and "Super Showdown" in Arizona later this year.

i'm thinking SCP. i'm sure if we get enough players, we can get a field to ourselves. probably even rotate throughout the day with the advanced, beginners, and intermediates.
i havent ever had to sleep near there, but i'm sure there are plenty of hotels nearby. its a highly populated area, so there is food too.

i had a good time last year but i would like to go to a better field. maybe one that is a little softer ground...... :wow:

i will look around on the net today when i have a few minutes here at work and see if i can find a few fields to choose from...

Another idea, instead of neutral ground, what about one year north the next year south Gives kind of a home field advantage. Also give a little different exposure.

Just a thought.

How about fresno It's almost smack dab in the middle we have a couple of good fields around here that could be used. we have decent inexpensive hotels a couple of Indian casinos of those who don't want to play paint ball.

here's a place I haven't played there yet but every one who I know who has like them.
Agape Paint ball field (http://www.agapeplayingfields.com/link7.html)

There's also splats which is a small but good field. It on some nice grass. I've played there and trust me what the lack in size the make up in quality and the people are great. Here' a place of pics when they weren't quite finished up they are now they have only 2 airball fields but they are nice.Splats Pics of field. (http://splats-paintball.com/openingday.html)

There's a couple more in the area. Like Raid but they don't have a web they would be good for june and july they are in a higher elevation so it wouldn't be as hot.

Im down to come up where ever. Although last year was a complete bomb for me (mainly my fault and GAdevils). Its funny, im still in the same situation as last year: still waiting on a devilmag so that i can wow everyon at AO norcal vs socal. dont think my devilmag will be done in time, maybe 07 or 08 AO day. ha ha. but at least now i have a few other guns to shoot. my home ratted impulse and a texas storm was 2.9 timmy so this year i wont be stuck taking pictures. Oh and on the picture note i just finished a plexi-glass housing for my Nikon D70 digi camera so now i cah really get in the action and not worry about my camera getting busted up. keep me informed

i'm proposing operation paintball in hayward. if you have a chance, go check them out. good prices, friendly owner, and the floors arent too slippery :)
only downside is that the fields are fairly small, so games would be limited to a few people at a time.

Also If you guys want more pics of splats I can go take some more this weekend hopefully. Hay any tips and pointer to me will be much appreciated.

Well guys I went and took pictures and talked to Jay at splats this weekend but bad news. My stupid Piece of <insert a long long list of expletives here.>decided to corupt the card so looks like I might have to make another trip. They were a little concerned because all they have is airball fields and the fact that they only have two fields that they may not be big enough for us. But I was thinking if Splats doesn't work out agape will and if agape doesn't work out. I could always call up raids. In fact maybe I'll email agape.

Okay went buy agapes website and the same weekend we want to have NorCal-Socal they have a 3 man torney.

There are plenty of fields. I live in Fresno and just found another field here in the middle of town. Splats is good, but a bit small. The Ref's stay on top of things and the field is easy to get to.

This other place though, is still pretty easy to get to and is running 3 fields. 2 Airball fields and 1 City field. I think they said the City field is on a 65 yard by 50 yard grid with approximately 30 buildings. They charge $15.00 for the day, which lasts until you leave. They also charge $5 for CO2 and $7 HPA all day fills. Must buy field paint, but it ranges form $32 to $65 after tax. If you want more, I'll get it for you guys. I'd love to be there and play, but just curious which side would the Fresno contingent be playing for?

i just want us to have it at a field that is...

Easy to get to.

Close to other things, ie food, hotels, etc (bars ;) )

I would like for use to be able to bring our own paint.

Would be able to have run of the whole place.

just a couple of things that i am looking for in a field to have it at. if there are any other things that you think should be a requirement, then post up.

Not too many places around Fresno allow for your own paint. Now, if we have a committed group in advance with sufficient numbers, I know SPLAT would probably let the group bring their own paint. This other field I referenced may as well. I am sorry I don't know the fields name, but I'll work on getting it. They are on Herndon Ave & Minnewawa in Clovis.

Everyone could stay at the Best Western in Clovis...http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/productInfo.do?propertyCode=05575#null. Ignore the bad photo, the place is in a great location in the middle of Clovis, Ca (a suburb of Fresno) and has all the food, bars, and other wholesome entertainment you could desire. It really is in a good spot and a very nice looking hotel. I travel for work and am quite familiar with hotels and motels.

On a side note, if the community decides to do this in Fresno, I can probably get all of the arrangements done. I'd just need to know how many we have coming. I will even talk to the field owners and see what we can get set-up in advance and hopefully discounts as well.

Which of the 4 or so Casino's would that be in this area? If you stay in Clovis, you can catch 168 and take it a good way out to Table Mountain Casino http://www.tmcasino.com/. That is one of the originals here. Still a nice Casino with a good restaurant. If you don't mind a bit of a drive, go out Hwy 41 towards Yosemite and you'll get to the newest one, Chukchansi Gold http://www.chukchansigold.com/main.php. It is definitely a nice place. Has like 3 different restaurants including a very Large Buffet. There is actually a field on the way to Chuck in the Yosemite Lakes Parkway development. Doesn't look very big, but is close to Chuck and Chuck has hotel rooms.

Would June 17th be a good weekend?

3rd/4th of June sounds good.

If you are going North on 168 and get off at Herndon, right before the Herndon exit on the West you can see what they have. Looks like two small Airball fields and a decent/chaotic village. I think they can open the two airball fields to make one big field or they can probably just set-up to the east of it.

I just talked with the owner. He is going to get me pictures by this weekend. Here are the dimensions on the fields:

The City has 18 buildings plus cars. It is approximately 50 yards by 60 yards.

The Airball field is regulation Super 7. 200 ft X 120 ft

The Hyperball field is a full 5 man field at about the same dimensions as the Airball. I've forgotten them already.

and not in that way. I got the opportunity to go over to Splats here in Fresno and play on their field. My brother has been out there five or six times before today. I talked with the owner when the day was over. Depending on our head count, he's willing to give a price break on the field use fee ($20 full $12 half) and will probably waive the field paint requirement. Currently, if you want to bring your own paint, then you pay an additional $5 for the day; otherwise, you buy their paint. They mainly sold Empire paint, but seemed to be low by the time I got there.

The field is fine. They've got two fields. I didn't play on the smaller field, but stuck with the larger field. We were mostly playing 11 on 11 or so and didn't seem to have many problems with the field accomodating the size. They had 4 refs on every game. They were training some new guys today, but overall the field was run very professionally. I've heard they switch the bunkers from time to time so the regulars don't get comfortable. Overall, I had a great time. For it being my first time on an Airball field (normally a woods player) it felt great and I think (big EGO here) I did great. Had a few team players looking at our party and asking lots of questions.
