Just interested about what you guys think about the evil pipe, because I hardly ever hear anyone mention it on this forum compared to others, is there something about it that puts people off here. I personally think it looks awesome on a black mag.

I loved my pipe kit, most accurate and finished kit I had. Much more accurate then my ccm carbon fiber kit.

I have 2 kits. I think they are better than the freak, don't need to worry about messing up the inserts or anything. Very accurate.

If you get one without the ultra tip, make sure that when you unscrew the back from the front, you do not grab the front by the tip, only by the base of the front piece. People have had entire fronts crack along the porting. I'm 90% sure evil replaces these, but it's just something to consider. Other than that they seem like top notch kits.

Personally I prefer my freak over anything else out there. You buy a tip you like and and insert set and all you ever need to do is get a new back. The 06 kits look really nice as well.

I guess I'll though this in there too. It its unspeakably better then my freak kit. Insert kits just are not the way to go if you can. Any mis boring the inserts and it will cause everything to mess up. I have the 06 back aswell.

I can't explain how much more accurate a pipe is then my freak kit. The pipe is much better by far.

Punkncat have you ever shot a pipe?

Yes I have. I was no more or less impressed with it than any decent barrel. Being a gun whore like I am though...its cheaper to buy a back than a whole set of backs.

i really enjoy my pipe. it shoots great, i don't have to worrry about inserts like my buddy with a pipe does, and it matches my cp front grip perfectly. the only thing i would change is the "pipe" that the backs are stored in, i would much prefer a soft case. i guess the upside is that when they're in the case, they're protected from just about anything (including falls from 10 story buildings! :p ) .

here's a pic:

that's actually a 12" spyder threaded pipe on that mag. i got it in trade and just picked up an adapter. it actually looks beter that way because the 1" adapter takes up the extra space in the front of the ule body.

over time the tips crack, usually along the porting area. If youmust get a barrel kit get a CP. personally i overbore my barrels, i still get +/- 4 fps.

I have had the chance to use a J&J Edge and it is very nice and doesn't give you 7 inserts, 3 of which you will probably actually use.

There was a lot of hype around the Pipe for a while and it was a success, that was until some people started experianceing cracking around the tips. But, I'm pretty sure Evil has fixed that and a brand new Pipe set would still kick butt.

I was not impressed with the pipe kit I had at all
Loud as hell
I broke on tip off and witnessed another person break his off

I'm not really a big kit person.
Tried most and didn't see much difference.

I shot a .688 dye boomstick for years without problems

I'm back to a .689 stiffi

Paint/bore match is overrated

i love my kit on my mag. I have shot it with Freaks, Cp, Edge kits and my Pipe kit and IMO the Pipe shoots straighter and cleans better if you have a barrel break...i was trying all ID's with the same paint and the pipe just worked better.

thanks guys.
i im gona stay w/ my pipe. if for no other reason then i have it. i really think it looks awsome but i had to by a 12in tip because the stock tipe(14?) was just ridiculusly (sp) long and made it look like a porn star w/ an erection (sorry for the mental image).
