I am having a small problem with my mag. I just got it and the guy sent a LX kit with not springs. The LX is workng great, bouncing off all kinds of cheap/brittle paint. But the problem is that I can't get the velocity over 240. The field chronies up to 295 so I was being out gunned by just about everyone there.

I was then thinking of trying out the other valve and when I was looking at it there was a different on/off assy. How do I know which on/off is which. One is round and silver where the other is a rectanle and brass(looking). What does that mean. What is the difference with how they will work in the valves.

Is it venting from the rear when you try to go over 240?

AA/MM on/off AGD store link (http://store.airgun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=202&categoryID=18)

Here is a link of what on/off you should using. The square brass looking one you discribe might be a ULT. They're not recommended for you valve. Use the one pictured in the link. The part that is facing up in the pic goes into the valve first, so you know.
If air blows out the back of the valve when you try to adjust the velocity up your going to need a reg piston assm link (http://store.airgun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=30&categoryID=18) . That one will run you 15 bucks. Everyone of the mags here need one with the Lvl10 upgrade. Funny seeing two of which were bought with the level 10's installed buy the former owners and said to be tuned well.

MINIMAG VALVE
No leaks at high velocity. It just won't go any higher. I tried with the reg as low as it goes all the way up to as high as it goes. And the highest it would go was 240. No venting. I am running a crossfire nitro system so I am getting full pressure. And the ULT works fine it it. I haven't expirenced any problems with it.

MICROMAG VALVE
This one leaks out the barrel when at rest but when I pull the trigger it stops leaking. That is the power tube oring correct. What size oring is that. I need to get a new one so I can have a backup valve.

I agree with REDRT, you seem to have the wrong on/off assy in the Minimag valve. I've never heard of a ult or retro/x on/off capping the velocity, but I have never tried it with mine. Anyway, change the on/off back to a stock one ( http://store.airgun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=202&categoryID=18 ), and go from there.

On the Micromag valve, you are right. You need a new power tube o-ring. Instead of buying the individual ring just get a parts kit, then you will have all of the o-rings for the gun ( http://store.airgun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=7&categoryID=18 ).

I have the spare orings and after changing it the micromag still leaked out the barrel majorly. I mean like drain the tank quick major.

I tried the minimag with the stock on/off and no difference. Just a slightly hareder pull

Can nobody help me. I am starting to think that I will just sed it in to AGD. They will get it working right for me because there is no proshop near me to try out different spacers and such. All the Orings are fine and all the other things in the manual. The only possible thing is that oring spacer or a greater problem that hasn't been recongnized. Because when I pull and hold the trigger it doesn't leak.

I have a quick question .... does your mag that wont turn up have the stock velocity adjuster or one of the after market ones that you can adjust without tools . The reason I ask is I have one that I had to shim with small washers to get the velocity to turn up past 220 because it did not push on the spring pack enough to allow the velocity to be turned up.

On your micromag valve i think you need to change your power tube oring and check your spacer and get one of these http://store.airgun.com/images/product/7.jpg

I was thinking that I will try it with the velocity adjuster from the Micromag valve. Yeah, its one of the ones turned by hand. I think that may be it.

Did you ever get this problem fixed? I am having simmlar problems with my 68 classic valve with the thumb velocity adjuster. I can't get the velocity above 210, I have changed, lubed, and checked everything and still it won't shoot.

Like I said if you go to home depot etc and buy some number 6 washers and put the washers in the bottom of the thumb adjuster then put the spring pack back in you should be able to turn the velocity up .... I think a small bag of these washers go for a buck or two

Put a shorter powertube spacer in.

If the on-off you are using is a retro on-off, it will work fine in the minimag valve. ULTs may be a bit iffy though.
