ebay is full of idiots

why get into a bidding war or even bid until the last few hrs/minutes

everyone gets better deals that way...why make yourself pay more?

morons :tard:

i might ask the guy if he messed up and meant valve bodies or bolt assemblies, cause theyrs BIG differnece btwn 35 useless bolts and 35 valve assemblies worth $80~ a piece

I want to buy them... then just chuck them at people... screw paintballs.

But having 35 mags would be hella cool.... but then buying all the bodies and other stuff after these valves would be hella expensive.

The winner could turn around and sell those valves at a reasonable price and make some decent profit.

Wow, only $40 for shipping? That box has gotta weigh like what, 30 pounds?

from what he says in the auction how much are each of those worth? someone said $80 but is that new?

what would a valve assembly be worth? what's the difference?

He is probably going to use a flat rate box or 2, only $8 to ship with one of them. ;)

I would imagine you could sell the valves for $30 each and still make a very nice profit.... If only I had an extra $800 laying around.

If somone wins it that reads this thread, I might buy all the splashed rails off of them. :D

You could make some interesting projects with all those ...

You could make a claymore mine, say, take a block of aluminum and mill it so you have 8 muzzleloading barrels the valves could fit in ... make a row of seers all hooked up to one trigger, pack in 3 or 4 balls in each barrel ... a small 4oz CO2 tank for gas ...

The best thing with that many valve assemblies wouldn't be to make Automags but to come up with new uses for them all.

what would a valve assembly be worth? what's the difference?$40 - $50 if it's a working Level 7 Classic.

The problem is that it looks as though some of the valves are missing their regulator nuts, which means they're probably also missing the regulator pistons and spring packs, at least 11 are missing power tube tips, and likely any pt spacers and orings there. Heck, 19 of the them are missing a bolt, and not one of them has a bolt spring.

Not a single one of these valves will work as they're currently depicted. There are 8 parts kits, so you could conceivably build 8 working valves from this. Anyone looking to buy this and split it up here in B/S/T in only looking at even money where the bid is at now. I'm guessing half the valves won't work, period, unless you spend more money in new replacement parts (pt tube tip, pt spacer, bolt, spring, regulator nut, spring pack, regulator piston, misc o-rings) than the working valve you build will return from your investment.

The splash parts are worth some money though.

If there is enough Power Tube tips then the 22 (that I counted) with a regulator nut (considering they do have the piston and spring pack) would be great for trading in to AGD for xvalves which lets you get an xvalve for $100 cheaper. I dont think who ever buys it will have any problems getting $800-$900 just by selling everything very cheap.

/me hopes I dont get out bid although I am sure I will

looks like none of them have on/off's either.

The ones where you can see the on/off hole obviously don't, so that's another good point. If there aren't any on/offs than it actually wouldn't be possible to build a single working valve with everything in the auction.

best case:

on/off: $15.00
bolt spring: $3.00

= $18.00 per valve to make half the valves operable

worst case:

on/off: $15.00
parts kit: $20.00
bolt: $35.00
power tube tip: $10.00
regulator nut: $8.00
piston assembly: $15.00
spring pack: $12.00

= $115.00 per valve to make the other half operable

They're also all old valves, so it's doubtful any of them could take a Level 10 without a new reg piston, and that's hoping none of the powertubes are cracked.

Yet ... the bidding goes up to $600.00

Last spring I bought one of FragTek's FragMags and sold everything but the X-Valve on eBay and here on AO. When everything was parted out I wound up with a tuned X-Valve plus all the Level 10 parts for < $60.

Some people have there gun setup exactly the way they want it and dont want to go threw the hassle of selling parts from a new gun, others like to build their gun from scratch. If I wanted to get one for my Zgriped mag, id much rather just by an xvalve then have to deal with parting out a new RT. Thats just me though.

Hey Guys I won the auction for the valves I will get them on Monday or Tuesday.

Valves 40.00 shipped
rails 12.00 shipped

And I have a bunch of parts to complete them If they are not already and the ones I can not complete will go cheaper

Did you ever get around to asking the guy how he ended up with 35 valves, ?

jenarelJAM
05-01-2006, 12:44 AM
Well, it didnt' sound like he was a field owner, and I don't think he's parting out his collection of 35 identical classic mags... so that leaves...
1. Someone connected to AGD, like an old employee who got a good discount or gift
2. An old dealer
3. Somone who won them somewhere
4. Uh... did any stores get robbed back when mags were the hottest markers? :wow: Probably not...
