Okay, I was at my shop today snooping around in a pile of mag barrels and I found a new 18" dye boomstick for twist lock left and right, still in the tube. They want $110. I have a feeling that has been in the store for quite some time. I don't want to low ball them, how much should it be worth?

I wouldn't want an 18 inch barrel. Good find though, I would tell them 80 is a better price, but I am not sure.

Well its the two peice so the 18" thing doesn't bug me. They have all the tips for it, including a flashpoint tip that I really wish was for a freak.

Considering that online stores and stuff were selling them for near nothing when mags went from twist lock to ULE and there was no real market for them id say $110 is way to much. They were selling boomsticks and every other twist lock barrel i can think of for like $25 new a year or so ago.

If you want an 18" boomstick I have one that I could part with for much less than $110. It's not a 2 piece though.

Not really... I was shocked to find it, and thought the flashpoint for it would be cool

$25 is not outside the realm of what they could expect for it
$50 is reasonable.

I said $80 because knowing the regular store clerk at a paintball store (teenager/older player that is 'agg' and playing on a team) they will say 'it is a boomstick, its worth money.' Or atleast thats how it would be at some of the stores near me.

No these guys are old school pro. They talk about 2500 round suitcase paint if you all know what that was.

Then I would start at 40 or so and bargain.

i bought my phantom boomstick for 50 bucks, and they are rather more sought after.

I got one just like it, although while its '2' piece, the 2 halfs don't seperate. I'd say 90-100 would be reasonable.

nope...not anymore. that was several years ago you bought it wasnt it?

i think 50 like loh said is a fair price for NIB. There is hardly a market for these barrels anymore...so if they insist on too much then walk away and find a good used one online for likely half the price.

Hasn't the Boomstick been basically obsolete since the Ultralight came out?

Just not as popular I would say. Both shoot the same and the ultralight is obviously lighter.
I prefer the ultralight but I know some who still use boomsticks
