Ok, Here are some pictures of the mystery barrel. I'm posting this thread hoping someone knows what it is. If I don't get anywhere with this thread I'm going to email some barrel manufacturers.

I just bought this barrel from Tunaman because it looked kinda cool. I want to know who made it. The outside looks a little roughed up, but the inner bore is still smooth. It seems to be made of Aluminum.

Check it out, it's so tiny and cute.

Note the nonstandard nubbin slot, could this be a clue?

Behold the neat looking muzzle brake.

If you have any ideas what this might be feel free to share them!

EDIT- Changed text slightly and changed first picture for size comparison.

Man I do not know what kind of barrel that is! I do know that I could clean it up and diamond polish it for you to make it look better than brand new :)

I might take you up on that eventually.

What is the barrel made out of? It is not plated is it?

It's quite light so, as I edited my post to say, I'm guessing it's made of aluminum. There are some gouges on the front and the material underneath is slightly darker. I'm not sure if this means it is plated or treated in another method.

It looks like it may be chrome plated aluminum. I think all of the worn out spots is where the aluminum is chipped.

I know what barrel that is.

It's a felon barrel.

It was one of those "local" type barrel manufacturers, like rocket or such, trying to sell over the bigger names with lower prices. Never took off and they closed out a few years ago from what i remember.

Thanks Bug. I knew someone had to have seen them before.
Well, this (http://web.archive.org/web/19990210180204/www.the-pages.com/felon/) is the only information I could find on the net about Felon Barrels. Anyone else know what the scoop is on them?

thei3ug is right about the barrel being a Felon. My friend has one exactly like it for a cocker. We always call it by what it looks like though... Not too sure about the company and what happened to it.

"The result is a very strong, high quality barrel that will never tarnish and resists scratching."

i guess it doesn't resist being beatin with a rock? can you get it replated?

It can be stripped and cleaned up and replated. It would not be cheap though. The barrel is aluminum right?

Yes the barrel is aluminum.

I guess they were 125 at some time. The company that makes them sure looks like they're out of business. Anyone in the Chicagoland area know what happened to them or these barrels?

Aaaiiiiiieeeee!!! I've been looking for one of these barrels, and you got the only one I've ever seen for a mag. :( If you ever want to sell it, please inform me. I'll give you more than you paid, which was $15 if I am correct.

ah... I'm in the chicagoland area.

And yes, they've stopped making them. Years ago.

And they were 125 when they FIRST came out, but go back to the last update to the webpage and you'll notice their "final" price.

Wish dye would go out of business so i could pick up a dozen ti boomers at 30 a pop or so.
