Hey you guys right now I am trying to purchase a MacDev tank, but I cannot decide whether to get a 45/45 or a 68/45. I am a frontman with an Emag(made it lightweight). Just some advice would be cool. Thanks.

How many times do you usually have to refill in a day when playing frontman with a 45/45?

Depends how much you shoot - when I play front I sometimes pod. When I play back I sometimes pod once, twice at most. Since I only carry a couple pods on me and air is free where I play I went with a nice 45/45 set up on a mini drop to make my marker comfortable for me. If you have long arms you may find a 68 is just more comfortable for you.

In tournaments I like to refill after every second game on the tank. I only pod once a game if that.

My frontman shoots a 88/45 stub and the other a 68/45. When I move to the front I like playing with my mag running co2 on the VA. It feels great with the tiny setup. Though when the team moves me up I don't find a 92/45 duckbilled to be too cumbersome at all, and I'm a small person.

/strangly only my backman shoots a 45/45

I am 5'9 and 180 lbs, so I guess I am right there in the average, but my arms are pretty long. My main concern I guess is making my set up as light as possible. I have a Ricochet 2kx, CCM NO PRO feedneck, CCM Carbon fiber barrel, and a shadow rail on my Emag. The only thing I am missing is a tank which I just decided to switch to a Nitro Duck X-Stream instead of the MacDev LegionAir. I think it is worth the couple extra dollars if I am able to adjust it to 900 psi output. Do you guys know about how many shots I would get with a 45/45 over a 68/45? Is the difference even worth considering?

On a mag I would say around 650-700 on a full fill.

i would get either a 45/45 or a 68/45. you should fill after every game just to make sure 100% you dont run out of air, especially if you are using a gas hog like a mag.

I'm a frontman running an E-mag as well, and I have a Crossfire 45/45. I generally pod up once during a game as well so the 45/45 fits me perfectly. I fill up after every game just to make sure I don't run out during an unusually long game. You're best would be to try out a few tanks (friends, fellow players, etc.) before you commit to something. Anyway. Good luck with your decision!

When I got my emag, I was in EXACTLY your position. Had the mag, but needed a tank. I went with the X-Stream, it didnt even adjust up to 800 psi. Sent it back, the next one only went to 750 psi. If you're looking for an adjustable, get a decent one. Or go with a preset, they're the best for the buck. I have a 45/45, which around here only gets filled to 3k, and on my emag, I can get off about 450 shots before it drops off and stops shooting. On my viking, I can get 740 shots(maybe more, thats all i can carry :p ). If I could get it filled to 4500 psi, my emag could probably get 700+ shots.
I've never run out of air before running out of paint, but that's also because my qloader(5 pods) only holds 500 rounds, and hopper + 4 pods on my viking is 740. I usually have between 1500 and 2000 psi left at the end of a game, unless I shot everything I took. I just refill when I leave the field, and top it off when I get back on the field.
If that's enough for you, a 45/4500 is lighter. If you want to shoot more, or not have to refill each game(yay all day air), get a 68/4500, but it will weigh more and make your setup longer.

PS: Where are you going to buy a 45/6800? I want one :headbang:

All prefrence, i would get a 68/45, because some firelds only fill to 3K. And it would prolly be easier to sell it if you ever had to. Personally i use an 88/45, but thats just because im 6'4" and my arms are so long.

I use what I have , been playing with a 88/45. But am thinking a 45/45 is in my near future. I shoot maybe half a case in a tourney playing front. I top off when I hit 1500.
