I would be willing to bet that is a custom mill.....

...could be wrong.

I have seen that "porting" pattern before, I don't believe it's custom since there's a tickle in the back of my head that says it was a production barrel.

That may have been where the idea came from.

I've seen that style of porting on White Wolf's Freak tips, so my guess is it's one of his. It might have been a custom job on a MiniMag barrel.

Didn't BOA have a barrel called the Snake Bite that had a spiral like that? Looks more custom to me though. Very few manufacturers make/made barrels that short.

WOW that is old school and a rare find. I forget who made those, but they were production barrels. They weren't very popular, so I dont think that there are many around.

Is that maybe one of those old "adjustable porting" barrels, but without the adjustment sleeve? My memory, or rather what's left of my memory, seems to be failing me this morning. Maybe I'll stumble across it in an old APG or other such publication.

It's a "twister" barrel and it did come with a sleve that would block off the porting, thus making it a very hot shooter.

It was a production barrel and it was an unbelievable gas hog. Looks cool though.

**sighhhh**

Porting, in no way, shape, or form, will not and cannot impart a spin to the ball.

A Proline twister barrel...been a long time since I've seen one of those. Saw one back in, I think, 1997 for the first time. The problem was, adjusting the porting also adjusted the velocity making it not what I'd call tournament legal. Pretty sure it was Proline anyways. ;)
