Ok. So i'm quite curious about hwo these measurements work. The psi is pounds per square inch, correct?

and the ci is cubic inches?

so 68/4500 is 68 cubic inches with 4500 pounds per inch, yes?

So, what is better? More ci or psi?

if I assume 68/4500, I'll get a certain number of shots. If I go 68/5000 will that be more shots or is that just different pressures for different guns?

If i get more ci it seems like i'll get more shots but then the tank is bigger, right?

my local field charges $2 per 1000 psi. This means it would be more economical to get a larger ci tank that fills up to a medium psi?

I'm a newb cause I've never had a gun that used hpa. Just co2.

Tanks come in 3000 4500 and 5000 psi models. Most places don't fill past 4500 so a 5000 psi tank is over kill. Then tanks come in usually 45, 47, 50, 68, 70, 72, 80, 88, 90, 92, 112, 114 cubic inch ranges. If your field charges by the PSI then I would suggest getting an 88/45 stubby tank and only fill it to 3000, or get a really big tank like a 114/3000 and you can play almost for ever. Only problem is that most people don't like carrying that big of a tank.

Generally speaking a mag gets roughly 10 shots per cubic inch on a 3K tank and 15 on a 4.5K. That being said remember a 114/3K is going to be heavier than a comparable 68/4.5K. You also have to be aware of what fills are available to you. Many places do not fill above 3K - very few places fill above 4.5K.

I run 45/4.5K tanks myself because they fit my setup best. However, I have fills readily available.

Wow I know scuba compressors with a high duty cycle cost alot but $2 per 1000psi? That seems expensive.

They fill to 4500 psi.

So, lemme see. 100 ci @ 3000 = 1000 shots / $6.

68 ci @ 4500 = 1020 shots / $9.

I dunno how bulky or heavy a 114 or a 98 would be relative to a 68.

Quite honestly, a little bulkiness don't bother me. I'm gonna be playing woodsball.

Afe these tanks large enough that I wouldn't want one on my gun?
