Removing Text from the back of Jersey's

Just as the title says.

I've got a couple of old jersey's with that laminated text on them, and I would like to remove the text, any suggestions?

Technically yes, but I was thinking heat or something, you know...don't want to hurt the shirt.

If you take it to a screen printing shop they can probably put it back on the machine and heat it up enough to pull the letters right off, i know when i got some jerseys SP this week there was a point where the letters where hot but not to the point where they where sticking unless you applied pressure, so maybe they can heat it up and use less pressure, i know most of the machines you can change the pressure...worth a shot i suppose.Or buy a new jersey??
