well heres the problem... i have a warped sportz drop with only the long arm and need the short. so i picked up a 3/8" aluminum rod and cut it to correct length.. drilled to hole to attach it to the grip frame. and when i go and put the cradle on it is too loose. i need to make the rod thicker by like 3/4-1mm. and it needs to be strong enought to not be run off by getting clamped by the cradle, and be thick enough to not let the drop go from side to side.... the cradle that connect to the rod is a clamp adjusted by a screw, the clamp is in the shape of a circle, the rod is a circular prism... i think thats what you call it. i have already tried, tape, stainless stell braided line, not the one with vinyl inside but just the stainless steel... im guessing paint wont work cause that will rub off..

Just cut the longer one. I chopped my KAPP DZII cause it was too long. No reason why you couldn't do the same with yours.

Anodizing won't do it but a hearty coat of chrome might. Its probably just cheaper and easier to buy the right size rod. Aluminum is pretty cheap.

i guess im going to goto hoem depot again and try to get a 7/16" aluminum rod... if not i'll get a 1/2" and sand it down. the one i have right now is 3/8".. well that should do the fix, thanks eveyrone for helping out :D

If you can get it to a machine shop (maybe brad at paintball-maxx) have them to knurl it. This will add some diameter to it. Then it will look kinda like the checkered pattern on a socket wrench..
