What the heck kind of jury rigged tank holder is this ?
I've never seen a contraption like it.
Is it old school or just home made sin ?

I have seen something like that years ago to carry those huge 114ci. I'm thinking that one is a new homemade type though.

There is an arguable point that says connection the tank to the reg is asking for problems, the connection from the reg to the tank is probably the weakest point under pressure. By screwing in the front of the reg and then having the back of the tank on the ground you create a lever that could be a problem. This is an old thing meant to deal with that potential hazard.

I screw my tanks in, I'm not making the above argument I'm just pointing out there is a valid argument that exists.

Dang, have not seen one of those in that good of shape ina long time!!!

those amounted to some insane "drop forward" setups when people were running the big 134cu tanks and there was no such thing as a screw in regulator. This was like Fred Schultz era stuff.

Trolling eBay and putting in bids!! I think Going_Home has to have the most items on ebay for sale of any AO member.

And every time I go to bid on an item, it's either his, or he has bid on it :)

I played with one back in '04 I believe. 114/3000 and a tank ring. I would say the entire Air system setup weighed in at 5 pounds without pressure.Heaviest and most unbalanced setup possible. The 'Cocker was timed horribly, the regs weren't all to great, wasn't efficient, rollout, etc. I loved that thing...

The tank ring was always sucure though. Never had any worries...It also garaunteed no one would ever steal it. Damn thing was too heavy!

you can save your searches and get an email everytime something that is listed matches your search. Im guessing he gets an email that tells him everytime something with automags pops up. If he IS just trolling ebay, than he does need a life. ;)

I made this sort of thing with my 9 oz. CO2 and my spyder. I just used a 3" radiator hose clamp and a small plate that screwed onto the bottomline holes. It makes for a very compact and adjustable setup.

I know they say Mags are gas hogs, but holy crap! It looks like you could haul your scuba on the field with that thing. It would be nice if a team mate had one, you could meet him behind a bunker and top off your tank mid-game.
