View Full Version : Logic Ultimate Mech Mag Frame

Best frame for a mechanical mag hands down.
Better than Logic or RPG vert frames.
Sure you have to use an RT Pro or aftermarket rail if you want a foregrip
but its still the best frame out there.

I say Logic needs to bring them back even if he has to charge more for them.
Lets hear your thoughts on this guys.

It does seem like the perfect mech frame. The comfort of a vert frame and the low profile of a .45. It's win win. I'm probably just gonna use my left over V1 logic vert frame on my backup mech tho. If I didn't have a frame though, I'd pick up one of these.

i pmed him and he said if we could get a group of about 25 people to buy one, he would make about 50 for about 100$ each.

I have both frames. And the UMF is without a doubt a major upgrade over the vert frames.
I tried the same sweetly tuned Xvalve with both frames.
I can two finger walk it with the UMF but not the vert.
More room in the trigger guard makes the difference.

Agreed, I love mine. AGD should license the design and sell it on RT Pro's instead of the intelliframe.

I might buy a second one to many into a pnueframe. Or maybe a third to keep and resale later when people realized that they missed the second run of the best mech mag frame.

Alright guys, I can see there is significant interest in having them come back.

However, since my situation has changed significantly, so will the way things work around Logic Paintball.

For starters, I'm not going to be retailing my products directly anymore. I'm going start wholesaling to Have Blue at Air Soldier Products.

From now on, he will be doing my distribution exclusively.

This solves a great many of my time crunch issues, as HB will deal with the customers. All I have to do is make the parts and send them to ano.

A few things will change about the packaging. No more allen keys and whatnot, unless HB wants to start packaging them for me. I just don't have time for that stuff anymore. This also means that we won't be as flexible with color choices anymore. You will be able to get gloss black, maybe red or blue (big maybe there, and if we do, it will be like 10 of each per batch), and raw unassembled. This reduces HB's stock and let him and me both sell at a much closer margin.

They'll still come with safeties, assuming I can still buy them from AGD. If not, they'll still accept the CF frame safety, but not come with them.

Whatever else changes, I will always stand behind the products with my logo on them, that much you can always count on.

I have a great many things I wanted to do with Mags still, but I just don't have time anymore to do them all myself. If I can delegate successfully, this will increase my involvement many fold.

Overall, what I do in the future greatly depends on how this batch of frames goes over with HB and you all.

NO, don't inundate HB yet, I don't even know what they're gonna cost yet, let alone when I can have a batch done.

I do have an anodizer lined up amazingly enough, and for solid colors, they look like they'll be pretty fast.

How would you all feel about satin colors instead of gloss? It would help keep the costs low and the turnaround quick if they didn't have to polish them. Perhaps even a dust finish?

Problem is that most Mag parts are some form of gloss or at least a dull satin, never as machined. I want them to be cheap, but not at the cost of looking cheap.

At this point, I'm not even sure if HB will want to deal in the quantities I'm used to working in, they may be way above or below what he needs to handle. I dunno yet.

Just hang tight guys, and don't freak him out just yet. If I am going to put out any production parts at all, I need for this arrangement with him to work out.

When I get the deal hashed out with HB, and then I get the time line figured, THEN I'll let you all know what's going down.

If you hear nothing on this front for a while, it means I have nothing to report. Seriously, I'll post when I have news, and not before. I mean it. Really. Don't bug HB at all until you see a link to a product of mine on his site.

That is all for tonight. We shall see what the new week brings.

look into gruntbull anodizing - I just had my mag done there (excellent job). For markers it's about $5.50 apeice for a dust finish solid color so I Imagine you could save some money on a very quality anno there.

If you get dust black UMF's, I'm definately in. Then I'll have 3 different logic frames for 1 gun :headbang: All I would need is the original logic Vert to complete my collection.

Also, can you consider including some good looking grips with those (like a version of the old logic frymarks)

Indeed, I've heard good things from now over a dozen different places, and I've been approached by them in an effort to win my business. They look hungry, and their ano looks to be high quality. What I like most is that they have been anodizing for quite some time now, just not paintball parts.

I have grown not to trust any ano company who rings me up looking to do all my work and I find that they've been anodizing in their garage for about three weeks.

These guys look to be not too bad at all. I'm fixing to send off a batch of stuff to see how they do, and get a price quote. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Ok, now this really is all for tonight. I mean it. Seriously.

I cant reccomend Fireball Mountain for anodizing.
I sent them a blue Xvalve and got the marker parts back 2 tone:

http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b195/going_home/?action=view&current=a4315526.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch8

I emailed them that I was not happy and felt ripped off and never got a response.
I always got a response from emails before that.

http://www.airsoldier.com is who I get my macroline from.
I've been looking at that M98 pump kit he has on there.
I'm guessing he will add the UMF to his sight somewhere
when the time comes.

My opinion dust anodizing would be fine. Xvalves arent a true gloss anyways.

Oh yes, you can count on FBM not doing anything of mine.

They screwed me a few times about six years ago, when I was first starting out. Not going back for seconds on that, not to mention that they are known knock-off artists if not outright thieves.

Don't ever trust those guys, with anything.

I like dust ano personally. It's fast, it's easier to apply, it's cheaper to apply, AND it wears better in real life. That's a win/win IMO.

Still, some things look better in a nice wet gloss.

We'll see, I'll have them do a few parts, in a few colors, in both finishes.

If this thing's a go for sure, put me down for 2, raw.

I already have one and it is pure crack. The comfort of EVERYTHING is unmatched! The way it sets my tank, the hump on the back, the way the finger marks on grips angle upward.

The closest thing to heroine in the world of paintball!

EDIT: Do you still make them for Shockers? If so, I may consider buying one... :D

I have not gotten started on the batch just yet, I have a few other parts that need to go into production at the same time, so it's dragging behind.

I do not make them for Shockers anymore, but YDNA bought out all the rest I had in stock ( a dozen I think ), so he may have some to spare.

I may do another run of them as well, though now the market is quite crowded in shockerland.

Basically, I just haven't gotten to it yet.

I've got the entire preorder of UEF's to do still, and my day job has literally been keeping me at a dead run for months now. I just haven't had any time for anything else.

The job shop that did the UMF's for me last time has since taken on contract work and cannot do my small batch stuff anymore, which leaves me to work on the prints and find another shop which can do the work and not steal from me.

That all takes time, and that has been in very short supply of late.

I'll get to the UMF's when I can finally see light again.

Right now, I just can't spare the time.

If he's only a small run, I'd be expecting the price to be around $150-$200. But you know what, these frames are more than worth it!

I seriously can't stand .45's any more thanks to my UMF. I'm trying to build a Sniper pump, and that's going to have a CCM 86*. If I ever wanted an Ion, it'd have an FBM 86*. Etc. The difference in comfort is HUGE! It's almost a curse that a standard .45 will never feel right again... Oh well! :p

/end praise :hail:

Hey Coolhand, have you tried contacting Rogue about his machinist(s)? I know he's doing a preorder for his Chimera's. He might be able to help you out.

Also, are you going to offer them raw only or a general anno? If you decide to go with an anno, Gruntbull does fantastic work.

Anyway, whenever the time comes, put me on the list for 2! (And if things go my way, maybe 3... :D )

Oh no, that's not a large run. At best with the interest here, I could sell about 15-20.

A large run is 5000. A medium run is 750. A small run is 100. A very minimum run is 50.

Anything less than 50 is getting too expensive to sell and break even on.

Bottom line, the last run was 50, that one took seven months to move, and I lost money on them.

So, would you 15-20 guys be willing to pay $175 a piece for these frames? If the answer is yes, then I will get them cut, otherwise, I'll end up taking a loss on them.

I've already taken a grand hosing on the EMag frames, so I'd rather not run headlong into another debacle like that for a while.

Merry Christmas all.

I've said all along you should go up on the price when and if you do another run.
I have seen them go for 175.00 on Ebay .
Why shouldnt you make money on your ideas ?
They come with the upgraded trigger already.
On the only other made for mags custom frames, its an upgrade to get the best trigger !
:bounce:

Good thing Ryan listened to you about your idea on raising the price so he'd break even,or make a profit!

You should do consulting for Roguefactor.

Ouch.

I honestly don't know how Rogue sells some of the stuff he sells for the price he sells it for.

He must have some kind of leverage on his machinist.

OK.

Thanks?

Take my advice friend, get trained by someone who knows what they're doing.

Trust me, I've got a foot long scar that says even with years of experience, you can get bit hard by a machine tool, in the blink of an eye.

Be safe, and Merry Christmas.

What is this "Grow Up" that you speak of?

I hear that grown ups have aches and pains, and can't use the bathroom regularly.

No way I'm going there. :nono:

You must be new to AO.

I am new to AO.

and I never thought about a large run being 5000 units.

Yea I guess it would be hard to find interest for that many.

Well anyway Im still intersted.

Overall, what I do in the future greatly depends on how this batch of frames goes over with HB and you all.

omfg YES!! :headbang:

i love HB's site... and i'm dying to get my hands on some of your products.
just a thought... and i haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but how 'bout a ultimate mech frame that's completely ready for pnuemag conversion. So the parts fit perfectly into it?

and a sick rail with ule milling that allows an air line to the front of the gun

and HB sells parts to do it... it'll be a one-stop shop...

just an idea.
