Hello all, I need your opinion on something. I recently traded for an Xmag. It was described as "in brand new condition" I got the marker and the Xmag was truely in great shape, except for this:

The individual failed to mention the fact that the feedneck had been modified. I contacted him and asked him about it and he said that it was a mistake, he just forgot to mention it. What do you guys (and gals) think about this "mod"?

Well... does it work? As clamping feed necks go it isn't a bad idea, and so long as it works, woohoo. If it's just too ugly for you, you can push the issue, just be aware that unless you've gone through a service like eBay you really don't have much in the way of stuff you can do to get 3rd parties involved.

RRFireblade dose a CCM clamping feed mod that looks real good and a lot of Xmaggers opt to have it done. Unless your die hard on having a stock Xmag it's the best option since only the feedneck is the only thing cut... check out the link in the dealers forum:

I actually like that alot. Really good idea if you ask me. The stock feedneck sucks.

So you didnt see a pic of the gun before you paid for it?

Looks fine and if it works then shouldn't a problem. You can always get that feedneck re-anno'd so the exposed slits won't look so ghetto.

Yes, I did see pics of the marker before I traded for it. They did not show that this was done to it.

Or, for a quick hide it fix, buy a Sharpie :)

Or what you can do is go to an auto parts shop like PepBoys or Autozone and get the touch up paint they use to remove scratches on cars. You can find almost all the colors available and they are designed to work on aluminum.

Duplicolor actually makes a very nice set up that uses a pen type tip set up

That is a sweet mod. I like it. I personally wouldn't chop mine like that because of my custom anno job, but I would if it were black like yours. Be happy, you have a $30ish mod done for free. Also, if the seller showed you a picture of something and then sent you something different without tell you, that is grounds for negative or at least neutral feedback.

Makes the entire marker garbage in my opinion..I do feel really bad for you.

I tell you what, send it to me and I'll dispose of it for you.

Do the clamping feedneck mod. Tell the guy that you are a little miffed and that at least ask for some of the cost to get the clamping feedneck installed.
