wow, pretty quick for live fire. Not to be mean, bit I hope to god that the video just renered poorly or the barrel was coming unscrewed. That thing sounds, well... like a mini potato gun. :tard:

notice how steady that marker was, that thing looks like it has absolutely NO recoil. impressive. i wonder how it compares to the dm's.

the closes 2 consecutive shots in that string I counted were 31ms apart. That is 32.3BS :wow: The average seemed more around 27 though. Still Good I guess.

Video is pretty short, eh? sorry about that. More of teaser I guess.
Yep it sounds weird, that's a lotta firepower coming out of there. :)

The BPS I counted oscillated from 28 to 30 bps, with some shot-to-shot spikes past 30. I assume it is due to the Halo drive spring loading up and down.
Some things have already been changed to make it theoretically faster, but have not run more speed tests yet.

In the configuration for the video the eye placement is too low in the breach and the circuit board was holding off too long on the eye-to-shot delay.. this was consuming approximately 3ms per shot, or costing approximately 3bps.

The latest bolt being tested is about 30% lighter than that bolt, so that means even faster cycles and less kick (was there any to start with??)
I also need to test with the latest Halo board (Cheetah, V35, etc).

What is crazy is it never once broke a ball that day! :)

Like it!

Is this a pneumatic gun or electro nicad?

Insane Nicad... great work. The only 'small' gun I really like.

i think the only way to get acurate bps abilities is with a q loader, i love halos and all but qloaders can do 100 bps (it can dump the hole pod in under a second but is bad for the spring)

I'm normally not impressed by videos showing guns shooting fast, since most markers can shoot fast now, but WOW, if that was at 28-30 with almost no barrel rise and little to no recoil, I am impressed! Can you even feel it shooting on individual shots?

Nice Work!

Re-built some of the insides and ran some more tests today.
I measured a 5 shot string in 149ms, or 33.5bps.. same old Halo. :)
Closest shot-to-shot was 28.3ms, or 35bps!!

Qloaders are tricky little suckers. Sure they will dump 100rnds in a second (I have tried it- very impressive to watch!), but to chamber one ball, ALL the balls have to be accelerated at the same time. I have not focused much on the Qloader tests, but at one time I did see a result at 37bps.

Here is a scope analysis taken from the tests today. This is NOT from the video. Each "burst" is a ball passing a simple microswitching (nice bounce eh??). :)

This is why paintball is still fun for me. ;) ;)

I find it sad that all the kiddies over at PBN started rumors that you had sped up the video because they saw 1 or 2 balls bounce around in the Halo.

Looks amazing. I'm not sure if I should hold off and wait for this or buy an Excalibur...

look, wherther or not you guys think it's sped up or not- It's going to be the fastest thing on the market when it's ready in the winter. DW/PBX are honest companies that produce rock solid parts and would have no reason to speed up a video and hurt the great name they made for themselves in the paintball industry.

No reason to hate a marker you've never seen, held, or shot in person. If you thinks it's shady, then don't ask mommy and daddy to buy it for you. Just go suck another one of planet eclipses nuts.

Nicad,
Very cool gun. I showed my son the video, question, is that a Halo Hopper or an Empire.... I let him read where you said it was a Halo, but he insists its an Empire. I said I would ask, not that it really matters.

Any idea when you will have this ready for the market?

Thanks

i think its an empire too... but halo is a generic name more or less..

that thing is awesome. when it comes out, im all over it.

The loader has history:
I purchased a batch when the Halo "A" first came out, and sold most on ebay. I kept one, #099.
A few years ago at a World cup I had Ody upgrade it to a belt drive and new board.
The world cup after that (year later) I had them upgrade it again I think to new board, who knows what else. Then earlier this year I got a Empire sound activated board from PaintballMaxx here.
Thus it is a "Reloader B" I guess?
I would love to get one of the V.35 or Cheetah boards and see if that ups it any more. :)

"The marker is willing, the loader is weak" :)

out!

if this marker comes out, are you going to get your own sub-forum on PBN? :)

If you can wait a week or two, TAG should *FINALLY* release their V3 code for the Cheetah boards. At that time, I'll be sending in 2 boards to be warrenty upgraded. If you'd like, I can let ya borrow one for testing.

any word on preorders...
Howbout all preorders get a whisper barrel half price or something? To stick with the whole ULE package Idea and move some some early inventory?

Please post the preorder anouncement on AO like 24hrs before the nation

Latest updates:

current bolt in testing: 6 grams.
FULL cycle rate: classified. Lets just say more than 60 CPS. :)
More information later as it becomes more for certain.
ACE will be implemented.

goal: Very clean, small, light, fast, simple.
example: Forget 100 moving o-rings to keep lubed, how about only 1? ;)

And then there is the bench-test, holding an average of 33.5bps, with a max of ~37bps. [same old halo]

They're still prototyping and testing. They haven't started production yet.

Besides, I don't think they've touched their website for quite sometime :D

NiCad if you want fast get a old Gear Drive Halo and put a Halo B board in it with a 6 AA battery pack. I tried to chrono the balls as they shot out of it ;)

Actually with that set up I would suggest a 3 paddle cone less popcorn effect

question for NiCad:

are you going to cut an asa rail onto the bottom of the frame? i know that thats probably just a minor detail, but me and probably many other players perfer it... it would be a cool add-on.
