This may not belong in here, but it seemed like the best way to get info from the dealers :)

I'm just wondering where those who design and machine custom parts (like bodies) get their materials? What materials would you need to design a custom body for instance? Do you have a vendor you go through to buy the aluminum? Is it a solid piece or can you find tubes that work for paintball?

Also, for some of the nicer bodies out there you require a 5 axis c&c machine. Can anyone give me an idea how much these cost?

Thanks!

4 axis CNC covers pretty much everything

Here is a 5 axis mill (http://www.haascnc.com/VMC_Price_5AXIS.asp#5axis) starting at $142,000 don't forget you will need tooling and vices plan on about $15,000 to $20,000 for that.

Thanks all!

So is a 4 axis really all you need to make custom parts or os a 5 axis preferrable?
