Hello. I just recieved my first mag today in a trade and I had a couple of questions about it. First, I will show a picture of it and then ask a couple of questions. Here is a pic:

I was wondering if there is a front grip that I can put on that? I have seen them on mags before, but I was wondering if I can put one on that one.

Also, I am not quite sure exactly what kind of mag it is. On the valve it says 68 Automag Classic on one side and just patent, serial numbers and a star on the other side. If anyone could let me know what kind of mag this is, I would appreciate it.

When the valve is in, should it be perfectly butted up against the body? Because there is a small gap between the larger diameter part of the valve and the body. If this is not right, how do I fix it?

Thank you in advance for all your help, and sorry for being such a nooblet :wow:

Everyone starts somewhere, so welcome.

It's a Teflon coated black hopper right minimag body. 68 classic valve, with a extreme rage sight rail. The valve should say minimag on it, but they are exactly the same as the 68 automag ones. The star entitles the owner 1 free rebuild from AGD, but if it has a center hole punch then it's already been rebuilt. You can get a vertical adapter for a Am/Mm (automag/minimag) rail in the classified ads or from one of the dealers like Tunaman, LuisV, or Rouge etc by pm'ng em. any standard ASA fore grip will fit. As for the regulator/body gap it looks like your missing the rail bushing. It is press fitted in the back of the rail and runs through the back of the grip frame hole. Again any of the dealers or AGD can supply you with the parts...

When you say that any standard ASA foregrip will work, do you mean a foregrip with standard tank threads on the top that screw in? Because there isnt a spot that has those threads in front of my trigger. It just has a hole that has no threads and looks to have around a 1/8th" radius. And I shot the gun and it works fine, even with the small gap between the body and the valve, is it something I should worry about or just fix when I get the chance?

Is the rail bushing a little thing that sticks into the valve by the two oil holes? because I pulled a half of a small cylinder out of that hole, so maybe it broke off or something.

You'll need a vert adaptor like flyin-p-t said in his post.
Then you can put whatever gas thru grip or x-chamber you want on it.

Like the one in the middle of this pic:

oh, ok, I get it. Thanks.

I figured out what the rail bushing is, and I do have it, so that is not the problem.

I've used a minimag for the past two years and it also has just a small gap in the place your talking about. I can't get it to go away and it does not seem to matter because mine has been working perfectly.
