I just picked this up to mess around with.

I have never owned an LCD and am quite pleased with its performance. I really can see why these were such a big deal for its time. Peoples perception of these older markers is such that you can practically be paid to take one off someones hands. The popular opinion being that if it's more than a year (or in some cases a few months) old then it is and never was any good..... :D Their loss.

my only problem with older angels is their weight, i had an 01 a while back and it was like a rock, also a lot like a tank though, one of the few guns i diddnt manage to break.

I've got an Angel LED in the low #300's, and I love it.
I recently converted it to run on a nine volt battery, I just need to find a place to mount and protect said battery- considering the stock board is gigantic.

The thing is in pristine condition with a clamping neck and one of the original push button on/off regs. I love it.
Single trigger goodness.

I miss my LCD angel, I honestly prefered the feel of it over my timmy. But its hard to find them now :(. If I could find one now adays i would buy one in a heart beat.

Older Angels rule. Put a new board and eyes in that thing and you will be amazed. They are still some of the best designed, fastest guns out there.

While Ive owned an lcd angel before in the past. It really just gave me problems. I couldnt get the LPR low enough not matter what the shim stack was like. It was always like 90+ psi. Its probably just me though. Ive shot others older angels and like it.

I agree with you on the newer is not always better outlook. I shot my way around the high end markers, and went back to an 03 viking and an 04 excal.

If it makes you happy

Due to the rule change of the tourny series I play in and the grumblings of my teammates, I had to get an electro with ramping.
With no money and only old markers to trade, I was able to get an Eclipse Angel LED.
As it already had a different board there was no need to upgrade.
I got lots of "Man thats a fast gun" coments then they thought I was crazy for not having it equiped with eyes.

My 1998 Predator Morlock'ed LED :D (Thanks Big E.)

Shoots ropes, mows faces, kills suckers, whatever you want to say. I love it.

Anyone know where I could pick up some hard eye covers for a 2k3 Limited Edition?

I have eblade covers on it now, and I'd like something more substantial.

Contact Destructive Customs. I'm sure they could fabricate something for you.

Yeah, it needs to go in somewhere for a code flash and general lookover. I was thinking TAG, but if DC can do the eye covers it may go out there.

yeah DC can definitely do that. Do you not want to go with the eblade cover route?

He has the eblade eye covers. I think he is looking for something more substantial and permenant.

Yeah, I'm similar to Steelrat in that, well, we break things. Constantly. So I want a more sturdy solution. Ideally, the covers would screw in.

/I yanked out the eye wire cleaning after play

I love my LCD as well, it's solid as a rock, no doubt.

The Angel forum we have is dead.

Thats too much for it not having a battery or charger.
