Seems to me like that would be an excellent way to get air to the pneumatics stuffed inside the frame.............
is there an lpr small enough to go inside as well????

NeoApollo
10-26-2006, 10:59 PM
Wah! I tried that with a pair of Hybrid grips and my inteliframe. I dremmeled the frame out and everything, but I couldn't find a regulator small enough to fit! Even when I modified a MacDev Sonic LPR (the smallest cocker LPR I could find) it wouldn't fit.

Major kudos if you've really got a inteli-pneu-frame with no exposed LPR.

There is a FULL WORKING LPR in there as well as an MSV-2 and a MPA-3. I'm still debating on a vertical QEV placement... but I don't want to mess it up. At this point I'd figure leave well enough alone eh?

I got to finish up the hosing and then it's test time over the weekend.

classic should work, but you might want to replace the classic on/off with a ULT or RT on/off to lower the pressure the MPA3 needs to push the sear.

Say your favorite gun is mech and fairly slow when setup legally. Then say for a little bit of money and a bit of effort you could make that same gun you loved into a very fast and now competative gun. What isnt to love? Nobody expects it to rip. Everyone thinks its just a plain slow choppy mech and bam, you rip off a string at 15bps. You dont have to mess with batteries in the gun(yeah big deal so what), you dont have to deal with boards not working, eyes wires getting pinched. And most of all you have something unique that is fun. Anyone can buy an ion and put it on ramping. Some people can buy any marker out there, set it to ramp and be lighting it up. Very few "compete" with a mech. To know you have pulled together one of the best mech markers out there is totally worth it to many.

When I play with some guns there is no connection with the gun itself. My angel and promaster are two that come to mind. They just are something I carry that shoots paint. With most electros I honestly feel like the gun is what is doing the work and I just click a mouse. I havent done anything to make it better. I havent set things up well. I havent added better parts to make it mine. They are just a gun. With a homemade pneumag I pick it up and feel proud. I took this gun to its peak. I made it as good as possible. And its more than just buying parts off the shelf and putting them into the gun. Its finding a way to hide the lpr, or mount the fabco valve in a benchmark frame, or how to drill to mount the mpa3. While it is documented well it still takes effort that if done wrong could ruin your gun. And for that when it all works amazingly well it is worth all the pride in the world.

If you cant find the fun in hiding in the garage each weekend to make it better then you wont ever see the fun in it.

Well, this si taking alot longer than I thought. It's turning out nicely.. but even simple things seem complex. The 3way valve install that usually takes about 30 mins... took me 2.5 hours to shave and get just right. I guess tomorrow I get to finish up the MPA-3 and test the frame. :)

How are you planning on mounting the air system? I can see from the pic that you have a full screw length available on the front of the frame, but what about the rear hole where the 1/8th NPT is taking up a large part of the screw path? Is there enough there to sufficiently secure an HPA bottle without damaging the elbow or stripping the few remaining threads?

The air input holes to the MSV are on the top of that particular 3 way. I just carefully ground out the excess "meat" from the 3way. So the output hose will only be like 1"-2" long and ther'll be no inefficient long hosing.

Did you special order it that way or modify it? I thought the air ports were all supposed to be away from the lever. The body of the faboc msv2 has a hole in it so you could mount the lever either way but I have just never seen them that way.

Notice the hoses out the top of the 3 way. All you gotta do is "flip" the lever. Easier sad than done. I acually messed up the lever on the intelliframe and had to canoballize another MSV-2  Now I only have a spare MSV-1.

Couldn't you take the end of the tickler reg down a bit to make it shorter and the fit better?

I have never really seen those, so I dont know the construction all that well, but couldn't you shave a bit off the end, or change out the knob for something shorter?

Not really... Maybe a 1/16" max
The knob is hollow and internally threaded. Sort of like a little cup over the end that contains the spring. Shave off too much and the bottom of the cup dissapears.

I ened up cutting the 1/8 NPT thread on it in half and retapping (bottomtapping) and redieing the threads so they can screw all the way together. then I shaved down the nut that the Tickler sits on so it could set down into the notch I made in the I frame. Other than using an end mill to remove the bulk of the Intelliframe material... everything was then shaved with the dremmel for a nice fit. Next time I may try shortening the Elbow to give me more bottom ASA threading to work with.

This is just one small step in the battle against the LPR. Next step: LPRless Pneumag- stay tuned in... ;)

It's neat and all... but after doing all that work and all the cramming of crap into it, I think it's easier to stick the LPR on the bottom ASA for a "bolt on" setup. Or just stick it out front.

Now if I made a mini hardline setup to get air there instead of bulky airlines.... it would be better looking IMO.
