I just bought a 68 classic automag with stock internals... how many shots could I expect from a 48ci 3000psi tank?

rule of thumb is the cubic inchs of the tank times 10 for 3k tanks, 15 for 4500

For some reason Boondock Saints comes to mind.....

I do question though, who's "rule of thumb" is that?

I was thinking the same thing... :ninja: but I definitely know im not getting in the ballpark of 1050 shots off my 70/45

92/4500 with mid spring on the level 10... I was getting about 1100-1200 shots

So not too far off, but 4500 tanks (CU*12.5) might be a better figure

I get about 475 off a 45/45 filled to 3k on my emag. I'd expect it to be similar for you.

And I've never found that equation to accurate

hmm every time ive done that equasion ive gotten as many if not more shots than it said i was gona get i shot through 600 balls on like a 4300 fill in my 45/45 and didnt run out of air (probably could have been able to go another 100 balls easily)

Ha.
I get asked this question so many times in a day, this is my system.
10*cu in 3k tanks
15*cu in 4.5k tanks

48/3000= 480 shots...
for a mag, yeah right round down to nearest hundred so I would say... ~400
A tippmann... same thing, might add 15 or 20 shots they seem a little more efficent...~420
A spyder... Actually pretty good as far as air round up to nearest hundred. ~500

If someone askes about any other gun... well that doesnt happen cause they already know.

Thats my stupid little way of saying how many shots you get off of a ________ci _______psi tank... and actually its usually fairly accurate. but Im always clear when I say ABOUT XXX shots

My $0.02

I seem to get about 650 shots out of a 4500psi 45cl crossfire tank. But the last 100 shots I have to slow down your rate of fire and u loose on distance. so if u take it down to the wire that’s seems pretty accrete to me.

Remember a mag Isn’t that bad on efficiency. Just needs a lot of psi left in the tank to keep shooting my tank say about 1200 psi but wont fire so it seems bad.

I ran a 48/3k for a while. I got about a hopper 1/2 a 140 hopper thru it before my shots started dropping off. Expect the shots to be steady from 3k-2k, drop moderately over 2k-1k, and harshly over 1k-0k. Carry only two pods, you wont shoot more than that.

If you got a classic... just buy an expansion chamber and 16oz co2... Wayyy more shots.

wait ur saying that once you got under 2k in your tank ur fps droped? thats not right, something must have been wrong with your tank reg or just happened to get a few balls that were slower and happened to be the ones you shot in that range. under 1k -800 as a start for a drop off is understandable but as long as the tank psi is above the out put psi it shoukd be fine (... well unless its a pmi tank, from my experance they dont recharge worth anything)
