For those in the DFW area I'm willing to give 3 ppl a ride. I got a Jeep Cherokee with enough room for a fair amount of stuff. We can start another thread or we can start PMing eachother. I'm thinking of making an AO-TX flag to fly, or something similar(open to ideas).

I'll grab a few 'funsaver' cameras. I've had better luck with those than most other cameras, that and they're cheep enough to take on field and not worry about getting hit with paint.

oh yea, i went to pettys last weekend - he gave us a private tour of the castle's construction, sorry i forgot to report.

The fort is a massive 3-tier wooden castle with ladders and slotted walls. it has about a 30 foot clearing all around the perimiter, with 1 doorway in front and some bunkers inside - virtually inpenitrable... here is a quick sketch:

http://img112.imageshack.us/img112/1315/castlegc7.jpg

p.s. the man in the fort is to scale. the back of the fort is open too, its about a half circle, so you could sneak around to the back/sides also - so it's not completely impenitrable... but its gonna be hard to get in that thing, and when you do, there will be a bunch of people inside under the cover of bunkers and walls, good luck.

Ok...sorry I really meant to update the thread and post more often but I've had things far more important than the internet and paintball to deal with in life over the past few months. However, I do plan to make every effort possible to be there on AO day at Petty's. I look forward to seeing all of you there and I'm sure we'll have a great time.

Am i allowed to snipe?
If so, i am hosting a german exchange student and would love to show him this great sport. thanks and

I dont think its only an automag/angel event. Its really for all of us paintballers in Texas to hang out and play some ball with each other and if anyone wants to see a mag there should be plenty out there as well. Also I dont mind if you snipe. There is a variety of fields out there as well that may require or fell good to snipe. And I got a mag that im building that is going ot have a 10 round loader so I guess I would be sniping as well in some games.

Greetings,
ONE WEEK TO GO.....

Castle news: The tractor work is finally scheduled for late next week so it probably won't be ready - he had a lot of emergency catchup work because of bad weather so we are planning on renting equipment and doing it ourselves.
Maybe we can do an "AO defends the Castle" game at a little later date or something to make up for it....
Or a really BIG airball field like the previous AO days!

Entry and air: $10.00
Paint:
Stinger: 38.00
Premium: 52.00
Evil: 57.00
BYOP OK ALSO!!

When you check in, BE SURE TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF as an AO member for discount entry.
Looking forward to seeing some of the old members and meeting new ones!

Cheers,
Joe Petty

As you all know, we have less than a week until the event. I plan on sending a PM to everyone listed thus far in the thread that confirmed they would make it. This is simply to remind those of us who have already planned this out.

Talks as of late conclude we might have cookout for everyone. Looking at hotdogs/burgers or a combo of sorts. If you're in favor, it would be much appreciated if you could contribute even just $2 as this will be coming out of a few of our pockets.

We hope to see everyone there and even if you didn't intend to come originally, you're always welcome of course.

Edit ... it doesn't look like ill have pumpmag in hand this weekend but in the spirit of oldschoolness ill use the stick feed i made for it and strap on the 9oz

An my son is sick (woke up lastnight crying/yelling that his ear/head/neck hurt with a 10?.00 fever)and we had to take to the dr 15.00 and buy prescription 30.00 ... there went my paint monies :( ... i don't see this interfering with the trip in any way ...

eh it's ok though i may just have to pump it up with the PGP ... and may TK watch over me this day if I do so ... and may my balls fly straight and far ...

Greetings,
Good news/Bad news.....
First the bad news:
A tornado ripped thru here early Monday morning, dropping over 6" of rain and completely removed the middle hanger that houses my compressor and all the wiring and shop air for our shop. It did have a soft landing in the stock tank at the edge of the field.... It also did a number on my ultralight but everything else in the hanger made it thru OK. Also ripped up the bottom of the safety net and blew doors and some tin off of the staging area but that has already been fixed. We have extension cords keeping the refrigerators on and will have the electricity back on and shop air fixed but the fields were pretty much leveled.

Good news: While we may or may not have airball setup, the rest of the fields should be repaired, up and ready!

Better news: TEXAS AO RAIN OR SHINE!!!!!

Cheers,
Joe Petty

We are getting some breaks in the weather - finally!!!
The top fields are on a crown so they shouldn't be too bad.
The woods are in pretty good shape also.
I have some friends and referees coming out on Friday (luckily it's spring break) and we should have all the fields playable - not perfect, but playable!!!
While they are working on the fields, I'll get the net tied back down at the bottom and try like heck to get a big ole' AO style airball field in place but electricity and shop air comes first!

#1 I didn't realize that you came to the field with us to play you were holding your gun behind your back .... i was like oh he is going to watch ... wasn't till there wasn't anyone infront of you that i noticed you had a marker... or you woulda been picked first ...

ill make sure i rotate between the two a little more from now on ... or just use stick feed on the mag like i'd planned to do...

and the next time someone says "wow if the guy with the pump used a semi he would rock" ill have to politely tell them well... probably not ...

i just couldn't resist shooting lotsa paint this time ...

That was great fun.

I heard the refs talking about how good that guy in the red and orange jersey was. (Simon) Not a peep about that guy in the blue Dye (me).

The fields were in excellent shape and the weather was perfect.

We should have another AO meet sometime in Aug. Maybe in the DFW area.

I'll give you props for being good. ;) You were definitely one balling me all day long. I swear I think we were mirrored almost every game we played.

I'm totally down for another meet soon. I know there are LOTS of AOers out there that would like to attend and organizing another event in the DFW area in the near future sounds like a good idea.

I'm definitely in for a DFW area one. I know there was a meet at Madddogz a year or so ago. I heard good things about them. There's also hit and run which has really stepped it up lately (projector 3 airball and a hyperballish field plus all of the other fields). My vote would be for one of the two (if at Hit and Run i can organize the field details).

LoL, September is pretty hot in Texas too Shannon. But either way I'm down for playing whenever. If we do want to plan something again for this year we need to get working on it ASAP or we won't have time organize the event AND give people enough time to solidify the event on their calendars.

Well I think there were a number of issues,

I popped my detent early on, a brand new Kila.

Flat Battery, certainly does not help.

But the main problem was ACE on (without any ACE) and/or body/valve bolts too tight, I
believe. We sorted both of these at the same time so we will never know which it was. Maybe I should switch on ACE and see...

I have stripped and cleaned the E-mag and she is still firing after being put back together.

Anyway Thanks to all of you as the day was well worth it. Looking forward to DFW meet.

Danielle also says she really enjoyed herself, thanks from her!!! :bounce:
