Alright, enoughs enough..new addition to the rules?

Alright i know this isnt pbn, but by some of the posters you cant tell.

on pbn there is a rule that says posting o rly pictures, the cats, the wall spiders, fruit cats etc etc etc are considered spam.

how bout we add that to the rules? because im tired of useless posters(you know who you are) not posting any text, just a o rly pic. :tard:

theyr fine in FC and almost expected to a certain degree. They are funny when used SPARINGLY and in the CORRECT threads/responses..but every new thread does not warrant a cat or owl pic :rolleyes:

I suggested this a while back, namely reserving goofing off for FC and making a solid effort to be helpful and polite in PB talk. I'd support the idea again.

That said, I recevied some pushback from mods when I would comment "Friendly Corner?" or "FC?" or even when I would PM people about it.

I think it's funny. It doesn't detract anything and in many situations relieves tension from heated debates. I understand why you may not like it. If I were against it, it would irk me to go to a thread I wanted to participate in and see it full of stupid pictures. I understand both sides, but since I don't have a clear moral reason to vote either way, I voted ORLY because I personally enjoy them.

I don't see it as a big deal currently, and from time to time humorous. I really don't see why we should create a rule. Too much oversight can be a bad thing.

i personally never fail to laugh at them. as previously stated, they can bring much needed comic relief to heated debates or flame wars.

But then again, maybe I dont see them enough to get really sick of them....



Maybe we can figure out a system to keep those kind of posts regulated, ie. people are alloted so many uses/month of cats, O RLYs, etc, etc. If someone dosent use up all of their credits they can trade unused ORLY's to someone who has used theirs up.

Kinda like the bush administration's plan on curbing industry carbon dioxide emissions......

They are definitely useful in heated situations. They really aren't a big deal. Certainly not something to get your panties in a bunch about. How about the mods focus more of their energy on the spammers and crap, not this.

The pictures should stay in FC, there is no good reason to have them in Paintball talk. That being said, I'll take it a step further and say that many, many posts in pbtalk belong in FC to begin with..........

They interupt a thread and usally they are posted just so someone can be a part of the thread, without having thing of usefull value to post. Thats my biggest problem with them. You cant really say they are ok for this post and not for that post, If you disallow them for one type of post, then they shouldnt be allowed for any posts. Now if they are kept to a certain forum, then that a decent solution.

Getting rid of posting silly pics in this area of the forum (And keeping them for FC) is a good start to cleaning up AO and refocusing it a bit.
