I have heard that putting a LVL 10 on a mag will decrease the efficiency. Is there any truth to this and if there is, how much of a difference are we talking about? Thanks.

yes it does use more air per shot but its not that noticable. i get probably 700 shots off my 45/45 with my xvalve w/lvl x (never ran out of air in game with a full fill and i carry 6-700 balls per game.

I wasn't impressed with my Tac One (lvl10 & Xvalve) shooting with the J&J stock barrel with my 68/3000 tank. I had to refill my tank after 4 games and I knew I had an improper paint to bore match which pretty much made me purchase the Dye boomstick barrel. I was hoping to find this out the other weekend with my new Dye barrel, but good ole "Murphy" got his two cents in when I developed an air leak through the barrel just two games in. I wasn't able to field fix the leak and won't be able to relay actual field results until next time I play but I do believe it will make a significant difference in air efficiency with the improved paint to bore match.

^^ yep, paint/barrel match will change efficenty much more than lvl 7 to lvl 10 change.
how many shots were you getting off drego?

Lvl 10 will drop it about 10% as I recall
Going from a Smooth Unported Barrel to something like a Dye UL will hurt you bad.
68 4500 with a Lapco Big Shot ~ 1500 shots
68 4500 with Dye Ultralite ~ 1000 Shots
Those are Lvl 7 numbers
With a Big Shot and 68/3k you shoudl see close to 1000 per tank
