To start lets just say that its miles away from my previous awd turbo dsm. This model was a 2006 which they claimed was loaded, but lacked power seats and moonroof also sans spoiler. I was impressed especially how well the car handled in NNY snowy road conditions. Once I got onto some pavement, which was still wet i let her rip through the gears and after all that the only thing I am doing.. is looking for one to buy. The rest of the day was spent getting insurance quotes and auto loan rates.

Im excited. Im approved and I approve. Pics for sure when I get one.

I bought an 04 WRX wagon in WRB back in november and LOVE it, couldn't be happier in these snowy conditions we are getting in the MI/IN area right now

Thinking about someday, maybe a wide body kit an full STI drive train in it, along with full suspension mods :)

I love my '03 WRX. New ones could stand to not have the craptacular looking tail lights, but meh that can be fixed.

No way, I love the tails! I would have had it for a year this March - about 25K on it by then. I do a lot of highway driving! Just keep in mind a few things when trying to figure out financing..

Gas mileage sucks.. 91+ always. 300 miles to the tank if youre lucky. car insurance will be a lot since most states rule it a high theft vehicle.

Really? IMO, they are too altezza like (maybe "ricey"?) and look kinda cheap/childish

I did some checking around and for full coverage 6 months of ins runs about 850. Keep in mind Im 20. The hard part is finding one they dont want too much for. The one I drove was an 06 with 17k miles on it and they wanted 26k. It was base model, manual seats no moon roof plain jane style.. no spoiler either.. I tried to talk him down a little, but they insist it is a rare car and I will never find another one.

If anyone knows of one of these beasts for sale. drop me a line.

MUST HAVE WRX..

Gas mileage? Current vehicle gets 8-10. Depending on how long the redlight is. The window sticker advertises 20-25 and if I got 16/20 id be tickled pink.

So far I have learned used car salesman suck.... gotta keep your cheeks tight.

Keep an eye on sites like auto-trader, also Google NASIOC and check the private classifieds for your region, lots of subies for sale on there

$26,000 for a 2006 WRX with 17k on the clock?! Can't you get a brand new one for cheaper than that....

Probably not from this dealership. One of the main issues in my area is the large ft drum military base and its occupants eat these cars up when they're available and dont mind paying premium $$.

Ive looked outside my area and with some success found cars, but its just gonna take time to shop around I guess

Then go drive somewhere else....you can easily find it for cheaper...don't pay that much.

Nope, my family has just worked for domestic car industry and steel.

Fun car to drive, pain in the rear end to work on in comparision to domestics with similar HP ratings. Engines bays cramped and tons of spots are small hands only.

Last garage project of the year was an entire COBB suspension system and 3" exhaust install on a WRX. Made me want to shoot the guy who designed the stock front end links. :shooting:

Bought my 03 in november and love it to death. Shop around more, 27k for a used one is far too much. That should be getting you into a lightly used STi if you're lucky.

Your best bets are Syracuse, Oswego, or Albany. There isnt anyone anywhere near Watertown who sells cars and doesnt deserve to be shot. Dont know if its still there in real life, but autotrader shows an 05 WRX STI for 20k in Albany. If so, its worth the drive. And while youre on your way there, shoot some Watertown dealers. Itll be good for the country.

I saw that STI. From the looks of other sites, sti's around 20g typically have rebuilt titles. But for sure I wont be buying any thing locally. Waste of time.
